Project X Graphite Wood Shaft Specifications

Project X Graphite Wood Shafts is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shaft I bought this shaft to reduce the spin rate of my drives from almost 4000 rpm to about 3000rpm. I love how this shaft releases at the right moment but I hooked the ball with my Titleist 910 D3 in the draw setting. I changed it to a neutral setting and now my drive went from 255 yds( Diamana Ahina shaft) to 275 plus yds (Project X 6.5). Fix your swing, get your numbers, find the right shaft for you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Project X Black 6.5 Ordered this shaft as an upgrade from Ping for my G 30 Driver. Not a very good shaft. I had a pro shop check the specs and they were way off. The specs worked out to be the same as a regular not stiff.

I've just been fitted and found out I need X stiff shafts do the 6.5 driver and fairway shafts provide a low launch and spin?

Asked by: Brad777
According to True Temper, the Project X graphite shafts are a low launch shaft. Their website also indicates that it is a "spin reducing" shaft.

Can I have it ready to be put on a Big Bertha v 3 wood

Asked by: JFAppraiser
Yes, you can. You just need to select butt and tip trimming on the product page and type the required length and head model into the notes section at checkout.

Is the project 5.5 shaft considered to be a senior flex?

Asked by: Bamboo
The Project X 5.5 shaft would be considered a standard S flex. The Project X shafts are not available in a senior flex.

I have Flighted Project X 6.0 that are soft stepped. I hit PW between 145-155 depending on weather conditions. Driver speed 103 to 108. What can I do to make the driver shaft feel like the irons?

Asked by: Golfman513
Based on your shaft set-up with your irons and the distance you hit your PW if I knew nothing else I would tell you this shaft set-up is probably not stiff enough for you. But it sounds like you are pleased with this set up. I have worked with players before who used more flexible shafts in their irons then what they use in their driver or fairway woods. If your swing tends to be a little more aggressive with the driver and accuracy is your problem then moving up to the 6.5 for the driver might work. The other option might be to stay with a similar shaft flex but go with a little heavier weight shaft. Without knowing a little bit more about what problems the driver is creating for you it is hard to make a more specific recommendation.

I have Callaway X2 Hot Pro Driver w/Aldila Tour Green S. CHS of 103-108 depending on how my back feels. Looking for higher launch without loose feel in transition. Will Project X 5.5 work or please suggest another shaft.

Asked by: Golfman513
The Project X shaft will be a little "softer" and produce a higher ball flight than the Tour Green. If you average a 105mph swing speed the 5.5 might be a little too flexible. A 6.0 would fit a 105mph swing better unless you have a really smooth tempo.

I'm using a Taylor Made R11 9-degree driver. When ordering a shaft from Golf Works, do you add the proper tip so I can just remove my old shaft and add the new one? I'd like to get a shaft as close to the X-6A4 as possible.?

Asked by: TMCnews
The Rll shaft adaptor can be installed to whatever shaft you order. You would need to order the shaft, the adaptor and request the adaptor to be installed. The cost would be the price of the shaft, the adaptor and an installation charge of $10.00. You would need to indicate what position you would want the adaptor (Neutral, Closed, Open etc.). If you want the adaptor installed, the shaft cut to playing length and a grip installed, the cost would be the price of the shaft, adaptor, grip and an installation charge of $16.95.

I am looking into project x 5.0 graphite shafts for my woods. Is a pxv shaft that came stock in a cobra fairway wood and was removed different from the latest fairway wood graphite project x 5.0 you have available on your site?

Asked by: Seeking proper shaft flex
Generally the stock shaft, such as this shaft in the Cobra, will play a little more flexible and have a little higher torque then the shaft in our catalog.
