UST MP5 Shaft Specifications

UST Mamiya MP5/MP6/MP7 Graphite Wood Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent addition to my fairway woods! I purchased the MP5 shaft and had them installed in my X-hot 3&5 woods, one of the best decisions that I have ever made. My swing speed is 85-95 MPH and this shaft gives me the needed release at the head to but my ball flight long and straight. Great feel and a reasonable priced improvement to stock shafts.

Which shaft should I use UST Mamiya mp5 or mp6 . My driver speed is 96-98 it goes about 232-240? Should I use stiff or regular. MPF code 2D2M

Asked by: James T Time
In using our shaft MPF fitting your swingspeed at 96 to 98 mph would put you into an S flex or your MPF code would start with a 4 (4D2M). Your carry distance puts you more in an R flex shaft range or your MPF code would start with a 3 (3D2M) An option would be to use the R flex and tip trim 1/2" from the tip end of the shaft which would make it play in between an R and S flex. If you have a quicker swing tempo the MP6 could be a better option to help you maintain the pace and timing of your swing. if you have a smooth tempo the MP5 being lighter weight can help you swing a little faster and give you a little more distance. With the quicker swing tempo the S flex could help you maintain more control as well.

I am looking for a driver shaft up grade for my Taylormade burner 10.5 loft. I am 73 years old my swing smother speed is 73, my Carrie is about 150 yards.i like ust mp5 or matrix. What do you r?ame do.

Asked by: Ramjet
Either the UST MP5 or a Matrix senior flex shaft could work well. Matrix does have some shafts in the mid 40 gram weight range that could help create a little more swingspeed and possibly a little more distance.

can I use this shaft for my taylor 3 wood

Asked by: T OC
As long as the tip diameter matches the model of TM 3 wood you have, it will work. Tip trimming the US0061 for a #3 wood calls for 1" tip trimming, then trim to final playing length from the butt end after installation.

Asked by: JERRY O
The 913 driver takes a .335 tip shaft, so any of the shafts we carry with that tip diamter will fit. The majority of the wood shafts we carry are .335.

hello. I currently play UST Mamiya mp5 a flex shafts in my irons(love them) Looking to replace driver shaft with something similar. hit driver around 190 yds. 7 iron about 145 yds. any suggestions?

Asked by: dannyl
I would suggest looking at the MP5 Wood Shaft in an R flex if that is what you are playing in your irons. Your distance with the driver is getting board line between the A and R flex. The UST Gold 55 could be another good choice.
