UST Mamiya Recoil 660/670/680 Irons

Finally, a revolutionary technology that will change how you think about iron shafts. UST Mamiya’s new recoil iron shafts are a game changer. In the past, heavy weight graphite iron shafts felt dead and stiff. With UST Mamiya’s exclusive recoil™ technology, we have brought feel back into the shaft, while allowing players to hit a wide range of shots that result in better distance control and pin seeking accuracy.

By positioning over 19 different layers within the shaft, we were able to create a design that outperforms the best steel shafts in the market.

  • Great feel and lightweight options to increase club head speed for greater distance
  • Lighter weights for faster club speed
  • Medium to medium high ball flight

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recoil iron shafts I have been building clubs for 20 years, just assembled a set of irons with 660 shafts, have to say some of the best feeling shafts I have ever assembled. Shaft loads and performs won't be disappointed, plays true to flex...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great shaft I use these shafts the (recoil 660and 670) for re-shafting my hybrids. The weight increase, though minor) is perfect for me. My only complaint is that the 680 does not come in regular stiffness. A real good stick.

I have a set of Taylormade SLDR irons with KBS taper tip shafts and would like to replace them with Recoil 660, R flex shafts. Do these come in taper tip?

    Asked by: ckgolf2
My notes tell me that Taylor Made SLDR irons use a .370" parallel tip shaft. They listed the stock steel shaft as a KBC C-taper 90 and they did show it was a .370". We did some assembly for Taylor Made here at The GolfWorks last summer with SLDR irons and they were all .370" parallel tip. The Recoil 660 .370" parallel tip will work just fine.

I have a set of Callaway XR PRO Irons W/ Recoil 660 F3 shafts Standard lenght, I need to replace the 5 iron shaft. Are these .370 parallel tip? how much do I need to cut from the tip and butt? Can you precut prior to shipping? 1/2" hosel collar?

    Asked by: Ron67
Yes the XR Pro irons are a .370" tip diameter shaft. The recommended tip cut for a 5 iron is 2". On their web site Callaway lists the XR Pro 5 iron at 38" but I believe that is with a steel shaft installed. They have generally assembled graphite shafted irons at 1/2" longer then steel. To get a 38.5" finished length your butt cut would be in the 1.5" range. Yes we can precut and prep the shaft for you prior to shipping. The cost for this service is $4.95.

what is the difference between recoil 660 ,670 &460 iron shaft?

    Asked by: ricky chan
The difference are weight, bend point, tip stiffness, torque and trajectory. The 460 is the lightest with the highest torque and will produce a high ball flight. The 660 a little heavier then the 460 and a little lower torque and will produce a mid/high ball flight. The 670 again a little heavier then the 460 with a little lower torque and will also produce a mid/high ball flight. You can see all the specifications for these shafts at these links and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

I have 6 year old AP2's that came with Adila Proto-T 75-R Graphite shafts. ?Snapped the pitching wedge shaft and need to replace it. ?I can't seem to find an exact replacement at Golfworks website. ?What do you recommend as an exact/near exact replacment?

    Asked by: Rdub51
The MPF code would be 3B2M. Titleist says they are .355 tip. We currently do not carry a .355 taper tip with that exact MPF so the next best matches would be: Aerotech Steelfiber 70cw R-flex, 70 grams part # AT0020I Xcaliber iron R-flex, 75 grams part # AS0028

I have two Cleveland RTX 588 wedges, 54 deg. and 60 deg. currently with True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts, 125G. I want to go with a lighter shaft in the 70G range so which would be the recommended Mamiya Recoil shaft?

    Asked by: deejaythe dj
Your Cleveland RTX 588 wedges use a .355" taper tip shaft. The UST Recoil 670 iron shafts, which are in the middle 70 gram range we only stock in a .370" tip diameter. We would have to special order these shafts from UST with a .355" tip diameter for proper installation into your Cleveland wedges. You would need to contact our Customer Service Department for this order at or by calling 1-800-848-8358. We do stock the Aerotech Steelfiber CW70 shafts in a .355" taper tip for wedges.
