UST Mamiya Recoil 660/670/680 Irons

Finally, a revolutionary technology that will change how you think about iron shafts. UST Mamiya’s new recoil iron shafts are a game changer. In the past, heavy weight graphite iron shafts felt dead and stiff. With UST Mamiya’s exclusive recoil™ technology, we have brought feel back into the shaft, while allowing players to hit a wide range of shots that result in better distance control and pin seeking accuracy.

By positioning over 19 different layers within the shaft, we were able to create a design that outperforms the best steel shafts in the market.

  • Great feel and lightweight options to increase club head speed for greater distance
  • Lighter weights for faster club speed
  • Medium to medium high ball flight

what RECOIL shaft works with the Callaway x2hot--

    Asked by: 22eagles
Callaway seemed to use the 460 Series Recoil shafts as stock in some of their iron models. There would certainly nothing wrong with using the 660 in the X2 Hot irons. The bottom line is which Recoil model best fits you and it should work fine.

Hi, I just purchased the XR Pros from golf Galaxy with the upgrade of the 460 f4. When I was fitted and I was never told that y'all have a 660-680. What's the best fit in your engineering for the XR Pros. I only ask b/c I felt rushed by a fitter.?

    Asked by: Stephen
I am sure that either the 460, 660 or 680 could work well with the XR Pro irons. It comes down to which shaft best fits your needs. The fitter in the Galaxy store has to work with you on which shafts are available from Callaway not from The GolfWorks. On Callaway's custom shaft option page from their web site they do list the UST Recoil available in the 400 & 600 Series as well as the Recoil 95 & 110.

I have a technical question regarding graphite shafts for my Ping eye 2 black clubs. I have been told that the ping shafts are tapered tip, however someone has changed the shafts to true temper steel. what if any graphite shafts would be appropriate

    Asked by: bob isbell
Ping Eye 2 irons do require a .355" taper tip shaft, both for steel and graphite shafts. The UST Recoil 660 is not offered in a .355" taper tip but we could special order it from UST. The Recoil 95/110/115 are available in .355" taper tip. We also stock the Aerotech Steelfiber 70, 80 95, & 110 shafts in .355" taper tips. The Xcaliber (AS0028S) is also available in .355" taper tip and we have the Aldila RIP Tour Irons in .355" taper tips.

I was interested in replacing steel shafts in Ping S56 with graphite but am confused with the tip spec. ?What is the tip spec for this iron?

    Asked by: Rscott
Your Ping irons require a shaft with the tip size of .355. The Recoil shaft models 95, 100 and 125 are available with this tip size. Code US0085, US0087 and US0088

I am thinking about replacing the dynalite 90 R shafts in my Cobra AMP cell irons with Recoil shafts. ?The Recoil 95 has been recommended, but I worry that might be a little heavy, since my goal is to hit the ball higher. ?Which model do you recommend?

    Asked by: RickC
Comparing steel to graphite is never an apples to apples comparison. The Recoil 95 is probably going to have a slightly higher ball flight than the Dynalite 90 shafts but without fitting you personally the difference may not be that significant. If you need a significant change in ball flight you might want to consider a different model shaft. If you have .370" iron heads any of the other Recoil (660, 670, 680) would produce a higher ball flight. If your irons require a .355" shaft you might look at the XCaliber iron shafts. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_AS0028S

What is the difference between the Recoil 95 and Recoil 95 prototype shafts?

    Asked by: RickC
The Recoil 95 Proto-type shafts are not available to us for resale. From looking at the specs on the UST website it appears the only difference is the torque. The proto-type has a slightly lower torque.

Last year, I purchased Titleist iron set AP-1 714 whit r?larise graphite shafts KUROYANAGI KAGE low balance iron ( hand right). My accuracy is better, but I lost five to ten yards. What is the shaft do you hav?o suggestion to me

    Asked by: Real
Without seeing you hit the irons and without comparing the specifications of your old irons and the new irons, it would be difficult to determine the cause of your distance loss. I would suggest you see a qualified professional club fitter to determine the best direction to take to get your distance back. It could be a s simmple as your old irons had stonger lofts than your new ones. Or, it could be related to the shaft fit. A qualified fitting professional should be able to determine the cause and find a solution.
