The GolfWorks Maximum Strength High Impact Epoxy

NOTE: The GolfWorks Epoxy Cartridge Gun (#ESG2) equipped with a 2:1 Plunger (#VB1004) is required for proper dispensing. Epoxy Gun with 1:1 and 2:1 Plunger (#VB1005) also available.

Stronger Adhesion At Half The Cost! The new GolfWorks Maximum Strength High Impact and Tour Set Plus Epoxies have been formulated to match the peel and shear strength of premium 3MŽ epoxies only with more elastic qualities specifically needed for proper golf club head/shaft adhesion, at about half the cost. The Maximum Strength High Impact epoxy is formulated for the high volume clubmaker to gel in approximately 1 hour while the Maximum Strength Tour Set Plus epoxy with a gel time of 20-30 minutes is intended for smaller jobs and/or when you simply need to expedite the curing process. Both Maximum Strength epoxies feature a shear strength of 4500 psi and require a 2:1 mix ratio.

The GolfWorks Maximum Strength High Impact Epoxy is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Notch The VB 1001 4500 psi epoxy is the best for building sets of irons when you have the time for epoxy to cure. I like to wait overnight personally. Here at Hot Stix Golf i build a 100 set of clubs or more a month. Great price as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great epoxy! This is a slow cure epoxy, which is good for club making. I would suggest that Golfworks include a couple mixing tubes (these attach to the cartridge) since you need a dispensing gun anyway; these tubes would speed up the process of mixing.

If I have UNUSED and UNOPENED epoxy cartridge (your brand, the Hi Impact stuff), how long is it 'good' to use before I should replace it. The cartridge I purchased is likely 2-3 yrs old. Thank you.

Asked by: CooperTheBeagle
Genrally we say the epoxy has a 6 month shelf life. It may be longer if unopened and has been kept at a normal room temperature, but 2 to 3 years might be a stretch. We would recommend replacing.

What is the impact of being a little off the 2:1 mix on the high impact epoxy? Thank you.?

Asked by: Jjship
It depends on what "a little off" actually is. The epoxy is designed to be a 2:1 mix. If the mix is 2.5:.5 or 1.75:1.25, the epoxy will not perform as it was designed. If the mix is 1.99:1.1, the epoxy mix would be close enough for the mix to perform very close to it's intended design strength.

Which epoxy do you recommend for graphite shafts? I am having issues with heads coming off on Ping irons. I want your best product and applicator.

Asked by: Lane Holt
The VB1001 Max Strength High-Impact has the highest strength of all of The Golfworks epoxies. When using, be sure the shaft tip is prepped properly and the hosel is cleaned. Mix the epoxy thoroughly and apply a coating to the inside of the hosel. Dip the tip of the shaft in the hosel and insert the shaft, spinning the shaft as you insert. This insures you have complete coverage inside the hosel. Allow to cure at room temperature. Full cure is 24 hours.
