Graphite Design YS 6+ Graphite Wood Shaft is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The answer I have played several different shafts on the drivers I've owned though the years always hoping that the next one would "the answer". A year ago I started using the DS-6+ stiff shaft and I have not looked back! This shaft is awesome, you don't have to wonder what you ball flight is going to look like because it is so consistant. Oh and if you want that extra yardage we all seek from time to time it will be there without have to come out of your shoes to get it. FAIRWAYS BABY!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good control This is one of the easiest stiff shafts which I used. The distance is good on 3 wood Magregor. Confidence is good with the shaft. good directional behaviour, not afraid on a windy day and water all along the holes, to use on long holes. it seems to sort of catapault the ball a long way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YS 6+ There are certainly newer and much more expensive shafts out there, but for my money it is still very difficult to beat the YS6+. The feel is flawless and as the "engine" of the driver it more than holds its own.

I have a brand new Graphite Design YS6+ shaft (stiff), that I would like to put in my 3 wood can you tell me if I need to cut off just from the butt end or do I need to cut off on both ends and much off the tip to keep it stiff flex. thanks Greg

Asked by: Greg Palmeri
You would need to trim 1" from the tip of the YS6+ shaft prior to installing into a #3 wood to maintain the flex. Cut to final playing length from the butt end.

how can I get this shaft cut down to 45" and get a ping hosel adaptor put on?

Asked by: AP98
Place both the shaft and adaptor into your shopping cart. At check out enter a note in the "notes" section that you want the shaft installed. Note the head model that the shaft is going to be inserted into and the finished playing length you require.

Is the YS 6+ strictly for use in a driver or can it be used in a fairway (5 wood)

Asked by: Tplourde
It is perfectly acceptable to insert the YS 6+ into fairway woods. For a #5 wood you will need to tip trim 2" prior to installation.

Could I have an Adams Superspeed adapter installed on this shaft?

Asked by: adams1danny
Unfortunately, we do not offer an Adams Superspeed adaptor. We can safely remove an adaptor from an existing shaft and install a new shaft.

Is the YS 6+ offered in a .350 tip? I know they used to be, but I do not see the listing. I play a Cleveland DST Tour driver with a .350 tip. Thanks.

Asked by: SwansOnThePond
The YS6+ is no longer available in the .350 tip. No problem using the .335 with either a shim or a ferrule adaptor. It is a common adjustment to utilize .335 shafts in .350 hosels.

What is the difference between the Aldila NVS 55R driver shaft and the Graphite Design YS6+ R ? Which of these 2 would be better for a 56 yr old golfer with a slow-moderate tempo and early to mid release into impact? Swing Speed 80-90, Ball speed 120

Asked by: Leon
They are both good options. The basic differnce will be the weight, with the NVS being lighter. If distance is your main goal, go with the lightest option, which would be the NVS 55R. If distance is not a priority, then it comes down to the feel difference in the weight (only 10 grams), which you might not even notice. The YS6 will feel a little stiffer due to the lower torsional stiffness.
