Graphite Design YS 6+ Graphite Wood Shaft is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The answer I have played several different shafts on the drivers I've owned though the years always hoping that the next one would "the answer". A year ago I started using the DS-6+ stiff shaft and I have not looked back! This shaft is awesome, you don't have to wonder what you ball flight is going to look like because it is so consistant. Oh and if you want that extra yardage we all seek from time to time it will be there without have to come out of your shoes to get it. FAIRWAYS BABY!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft. Very consistent shaft. Easily fitted for a variety of swing speeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good control This is one of the easiest stiff shafts which I used. The distance is good on 3 wood Magregor. Confidence is good with the shaft. good directional behaviour, not afraid on a windy day and water all along the holes, to use on long holes. it seems to sort of catapault the ball a long way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still a great shaft First tried the YS-6+ at a Titleist driver fitting a couple of years ago (and even then it was an old shaft) but I still haven't found another shaft that performs as well, including a number of $300 premium shafts. Extremely smooth, unbelievable value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YS 6+ There are certainly newer and much more expensive shafts out there, but for my money it is still very difficult to beat the YS6+. The feel is flawless and as the "engine" of the driver it more than holds its own.

I recently broke the shaft in my driver. My shaft is a Graphite Design Tour, Accuracy and Distance. It also has YS-6+ S350 on it. It is Blue in Color. Can you tell me exactly which shaft this is and if an exact replacement is available ?

Asked by: jph48
The YS633WPL S flex would be the closest replacement. The S350 tells me that this is a .350" tip diameter shaft. At one time Graphite Design did make a .350" tip diameter YS6+ but it is no longer available. You will need to use a shim to make the .335" tip diameter YS633WPL fit this driver properly. Depending on the manufacture and model of driver you have there maybe a ferrule or adaptor available. If we knew which driver you have we could make a recommendation.

I currently play YS6+ stiff in my driver and with age (now 62), I've noticed my distance is starting to be shorter. Would changing to a YS 6+ R help to regain distance and would it be like playing a firm shaft versus a stiff?

Asked by: Eddie V
I am that age and have been playing the YS6+ R flex for a few years now. Great shaft and I would think the R flex could work well.

I use a Graphite Design YS6+ 65R in my driver and love it. I am going to re-shaft a Tour Edge Exotics XCG5 3 wood, and thinking of putting the same shaft in it. Currently use an XCG4 3 wood with an Aldila NVS 65R with good results. Your thoughts?

Asked by: Jacko
I also play the Graphite Design YS6+ in my driver. There is no reason that this shaft would not work well in a fairway wood. Since the YS6+ is designed to be it's listed flex when installed into a bore through clubhead be sure to follow the trimming instructions correctly to maintain the proper flex.

Specs on Graphite Design YS 5.6+ golf shaft (driver)? ...thks

Asked by: georgepp
Graphite Design use to make a YS-5+ shaft that was listed as a mid/low bend point and med/soft tip stiffness. It weighted 56 grams, the R flex had 4 degrees of torque and the S flex was 3.5 degrees torque. For the YS-5.6+ shaft that you have the .6 in 5.6 tells me that this shaft was manufactured for a specific golf club manufacture and the spec's would be a little different then what I listed above and we do have the spec's for a YS-5.6+.

I currently use a RBZ 1st generation with a regular shaft. I hit the ball very high with this club and get zero run out. I carry the ball 230-235 yards in the air. I would like to lower my trajectory. Which shaft would best suit me?

Asked by: Ralph W
The Graphite Design YS6+ could possibly work well. I personally play this shaft and it works well for me without ballooning the ball. For me I get a good combination of carry and roll. This is a shaft I recommend often with good feedback.

i have this shaft in my 8.5' 909 Comp. ?I am looking to modernize my driver to a 913. ?However, I m unable to find the driver with this shaft. ?What other shafts have the same swing feel and performance of this shaft? Why is this shaft "out"?

Asked by: Franzer
The YS 6+ is an older shaft that Titleist first started using in the 905 series drivers and the manufactures will use new shaft offerings for the current products. It is still a very good shaft, I use it in my driver. Graphite Design has made a newer version of the YS Series shafts called the YS Nanoreload. I would not hesitate to get another YS 6+ shaft and another adaptor for a Titleist 913 and continue using that shaft. It is still a very good shaft.

I have a brand new Graphite Design YS6+ shaft (stiff), that I would like to put in my 3 wood can you tell me if I need to cut off just from the butt end or do I need to cut off on both ends and much off the tip to keep it stiff flex. thanks Greg

Asked by: Greg Palmeri
You would need to trim 1" from the tip of the YS6+ shaft prior to installing into a #3 wood to maintain the flex. Cut to final playing length from the butt end.
