Project X Rifle Flighted Steel Iron Shaft Set is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 2242.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better performance than DGS 300 Have been playing Adams Pro Gold with flighted Proj X 6.0 for 1.5 yrs. A tad stiffer than my previous Mizuno MP-30 w/ DGS 300, and much better consistency for me (5i = 90 mph). It will take a lot for me to change out of these shafts.

Just bought a set of Titleist 716 CB. Swing speed with a driver is around 112mph. I swing xstiff shafts in my woods. I hit the ball high. Been told to look in to Project X shafts, just don't know which ones to get. With the info provided, any suggestions?

Royal Precision referenced 6.5 (X flex) for a 5 iron carry distance of 185 to 200 yards with an average swing tempo and 7.0 (X+ flex) for a fast tempo in the 185 to 200 yard range. They reference a 6.0 for carry distances in the 170 to 185 range with a 5 iron.

I bent my 5-iron shaft. I have a 3-iron that I don't carry. Can I have the shaft from my 3-iron put into my 5-iron?

Asked by: Mola59
If you install the 3 iron shaft into the 5 iron and butt cut the shaft to the finished length of the 5 iron the shaft will play a little more then a half a flex more flexible then it is now. The Rifle Flighted 95 iron shafts were discontinued and the Project X (RP0009I) would be the closest replacement these days. http://www.golfworks.com/project-x-rifle-taper-tip-iron-shafts/p/RP0009I/

I just bought a set of M2 irons 4 - Gap and was wanting to put the 5.5 shafts in the heads. Is this a good combination, and can you pure the shafts so I can get a local pro to put the shafts in my heads?

Asked by: rebel1
As long as the specification of the shaft fit you they will work well with the M2 irons. Yes we can Pure the shafts.

In the http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/TaylorMade.pdf table the replacement shaft for my 360 steel shafts (to go to reg vs current stiff) it says 3B2M. These are 3.5B2M. Will they work? The trim guide shows a 3B2M but don't see it offered.

Asked by: Chucktone
The Project X Rifle Flighted shafts were discontinued by Royal Precision and these are what we have remaining. The 5.0 flex which is no longer available was the 3B2M. Depending on your set make up you could make the 5.5 flex play closer to the 5.0 by what we call soft stepping the shafts. This means installing the 3 iron shaft into the 4 iron and cutting the 4 iron to the 4 iron length. This will make the shaft play closer to the 5.0 flex and the 3B2M code. The 5.5 (3.5B2M) play not quite a half a flex stiffer then the 5.0 (3B2M) would play.

Hi, I'm thinking about installing these shafts 4-pw in a set of TE forged irons. What kind of results might I see? I'd like to get a 5 iron at 38in. Should I order the shafts 3-PW and install the 4 iron shaft in the 5 iron head? Would it play stiffer? TIA

Asked by: Kenzo
The Project X Flighted shafts should match well with the TE Forged irons. These shafts are only available in sets of 3-PW. If you install the 4 iron shaft into the 5 iron head the shaft will actually play a little more flexible. We call it soft stepping a shaft. 38" is for the most part a standard length 5 iron for most manufactures

Can you tell me if the shaft bands come installed on these irons. They seem like it would be difficult to align them correctly.

Asked by: Kenzo
Yes the shaft bands are already installed on the shafts.

What tip size will fit my Ping G25 irons in a 5.5 Project X rifle shaft?
