Trimming Instructions

Project X Rifle Taper Tip Iron Shafts is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Project X Rifle Flighted 6.0 Changed from Dynamic Gold S300 to the 6.0 Rifle Flighted. Good quality shafts, stiffer than my DG S300's. Spined them and there were some shafts with a mild spine and some with a more prominent spine. Overall a good shaft, haven't played them long enough to have a feel regarding the trajectory.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Project X Rifle Shaft 5.0 My only complaint is that the golf works didn't offer the 4.0 or the 4.5 shaft. My opinion is that unless you are a low handicap player and strong the 5.0 version is too strong of a shaft for most of us...! Would I recommend this product? Yes but the correct shaft number for the average player.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick & Efficient Needed a 5 iron shaft ASAP - ordered on a Sunday afternoon, received it on Wednesday and in my bag for a tournament on Thursday. Fast shipping and very simple to order. will come here again to order any shafts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shafts on the market. You can really feel the shaft release at impact. Have them in woods irons wedges. 6.0 stiff.

can you tell me which rifle shaft I can tip trim to set exact freq or are they all tapered?

Asked by: Rob Mack
These days all the Project X shafts are .355" taper tip. The only place they offer a .370" parallel tip is through the True Temper PFC Program. As part of this program they offer the Rifle shaft in a blank that can be trimmed to specific frequencies. The blanks do come in different frequencies and then can be trimmed from there. The GolfWorks is a PFC dealer so we do have the shafts. You would need to contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-848-8358 or by email at golfworks@golfworks.com and they can help you with these.

You have different shafts for different heads, can these shafts be tip trimmed to exact frequencies?

Asked by: Rob Mack
No the Project X Rifle shafts cannot be tip trimmed to exact frequencies because they are .355" taper tip shaft design. These shafts are .355" at the very tip and taper out to approximately .370" where the shaft exits the top of the hosel and they fit into a hosel bore that is shaped the same way. If you were to tip cut these shafts they would no longer fit down into the hosel bore. That is why .355" taper tip shafts always have to have a specific shaft for each club number.

Asked by: dave
Royal Precision referenced an R flex as a 4.5 flex and an R+ as a 5.0 flex and they referenced a carry distance with a 5 iron at 150 to 170 for the 4.5 and 5.0 flexes.

What is the difference between the lz project 6.0 shaft, taper and rifle

Asked by: Joe
In just looking at the specifications of the two shafts there is not a big difference. The 6.0's both weight the same at 120 grams. The LZ is listed as a mid trajectory shaft and the Rifle mid to mid/low trajectory. http://www.pxshaft.com/products/project-x-lz-steel/

Do you have any Project X 6.5 Flighted shafts? Specifically for a 4 and 5 iron?

Asked by: George
We do not have any individual flighted shafts available. We do still have a few sets of the .370 tip parallel Project X Rifle shafts available in the 6.5 flex (RP14set is the code). Unfortunately, we can not break the set. The model has been discontinued and we can not get individual replacements.
