The GolfWorks Air Powered Golf Grip Remover/Installer

The GolfWorks Air Powered Grip Remover/Installer Tool is a great alternative for removing old grips from golf shafts. The tool comes with a clear protective tube to prevent the grip from exploding during the removal process. Grips can also be installed at the manufactures recommended grip size by applying one layer of masking tape to the shaft butt eliminating the need for solvent.

Caution: Do not use the Air Powered Grip Remover with more than 35 PSI of air pressure.

The GolfWorks Air Powered Golf Grip Remover/Installer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 976.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Compressor installation tool I have used this tool for a couple of grip installation jobs. Works real well! Borrowed a compressor! Would be advantageous to know what parameters to look for when choosing a compressor. What minimum capacity should be considered? Would help to have this information available for future purchasers. Eliminates solvent odors in the house!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Time Saver Had for a few weeks now. Works very well on most grips. Instructions are useful but call Customer service for some good inside tips (on removal especially). A little wd-40 and finesse work very well together. Learning curve is pretty short. I have arthritis in my hands so the excellent time savings are less important than the reduced wear and tear on my hands. Love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works well works well if existing grip tape isn't folded over end of shaft, don't exceed the recommended 35 psi or the grip may explode during removal process. oil the trigger before use and use finesse. it will allow you to add and remove grips quickly during a fitting process

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I have been working with air powered unit for over 6 months now. I use it to help remove grips and replace new grips. I have even used it to remove long and fat grips from belly putters. There is a learning curve, but it is not difficult to learn the finesse.

I want to replace the air compressor I have been using, which is to powerful. S what size of air compressor should I be looking at? Thanks!

Asked by: Ron Block
I have never really found the size of the compressor to be a problem as long as I could control the pressure. We use a smaller tank compressor in our school and if I am trying to remove a grip that has been installed with double sided grip tape and solvent I generally set the pressure at 70 lbs to start. If I am just installing grips with air and not using double sided grip tape and solvent I have used as low as 50 lbs of pressure. The same for removing grips that have been installed without double sided grip tape and solvent. I have removed them with 50 lbs. This is the compressor we use in the schools. https://www.lowes.com/pd/PORTER-CABLE-0-8-HP-6-Gallon-150-PSI-120-Volt-Pancake-Electric-Air-Compressor/4764588 At home to install grips without double side grip tape and solvent I use a 1/2 Horse Power tankless compressor that builds 50 lbs of pressure and it works fine. However it will not remove grips that have been installed with double sided grip tape and solvent.

will this remove a super stroke slim 3.0 , is the shield large enough ?

Asked by: today
The sleeve on the GW0103 is not large enough to fit over the Super Stroke 3.0. Removing a Super Stroke grip is difficult, but an experienced club technician should be able to to remove one using the VGGR V-Groove Grip Remover.

Will this work on clubs that have grip tape under grip?

Asked by: splashbud13
Yes, the GW0103 will work to remove grips with tape, and install grips with tape (with the use of solvent), however, it is not necessary to use to install a grip when tape and solvent is used.

Can I use this tool for removal of super stroke putter grips.

Asked by: maireadh
The tube will not cover the SuperStroke but it really should not be necessary to use the tube with the SuperStrokes. These grips just do not expand that much which can make it difficult to remove with air. I have had success saving SuperStrokes using the V-Groove Grip Remover. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=VGGR
