The GolfWorks Brass Adaptor Shims

These shims are the perfect answer to your shaft installation headaches. Easy to use, they center the shaft in the bore perfectly and create a maximum bond between the shaft and the hosel. Each pack comes with 5 shims.

The GolfWorks Brass Adaptor Shims is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work for me I buy and use the shims in cases where a sleeve is not log enough to properly support the shaft to the bottom of the bore. What can I say, they are shims. I haven't had a problem with quality or dimensions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brass Shim For Orlimar 420 I used the brass shim to replace the shaft on an Orlimar Hip Ti 420. I had to use two shims as the hosel was .370. It worked great. the driver feels solid when hit.

Will this work for .335 to .355

Asked by: shooter77
We do not have a shim that will allow you to shim a .335" shaft into a .355" hosel bore. Keep in mind a .355" taper hosel bore is only .355" at the very bottom and it tapers out to approximately .370" where the shaft exits the top of the hosel. So at the top of the hosel you need to shim .035" and at the bottom of the hosel you need to shim .020". You would have to create a shim to make this work and I would always remind you of the liability that goes along with doing this.

Instead of a shim to epoxy a .335 shaft in to a .350 bore can I simply use extra GOLFWORKS shaft centering granuals?

Asked by: John
No you need tou use a SHIM. The Quik Center (QCSB) will not fill enough space to keep the shaft properly centered in the hosel bore.

I have some Taylormade firesole irons with .390 hosel ID. I want to put .370 parallel shafts in. Will the shim 30s work?

Asked by: Joe
The SHIM 30 would be to big for this installation. You could possibly adapt the SHIM 15 and also use some Quik Center (QCSB) to help keep the shaft centered in the bore. http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-quick-center-shafting-beads/p/QCSB/ The way these were most commonly reshafted was using the SADI Bushing Ferrule Adapter. The iron adapter is sized to fit a .400" hosel bore and you would carefully sand it down to fit the .390" bore. It is sized to accept the .370" shaft size. http://www.golfworks.com/bushing-ferrule-adaptors/p/SADW/

I have a complete set of King Cobra II Oversize irons with a variety of shafts. These, I believe, have the .380 hosel. Which shims would work to reshaft these with standard .370 shafts?

Asked by: CP1953
The King Cobra II Oversize irons were a .380" hosel bore size. We do not have a specific shim size for this installation. I would use the SHIM15 and you may need to remove one or two of the fingers from the shim to get it to size correctly and that is not a problem. http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-brass-adaptor-shims/p/SHIM/

Will this work in a graphite shaft that is 335 going into a 350 head?

Asked by: Superhack
Yes the SHIM15 will work for sizing the .335" tip shaft into a .350" hosel bore. These work very well.

Would these work on Aerotech I110 Cw .355 to the .370 taylormade PSi irons.

Asked by: Donald
Yes you would use the SHIMT and they work very well for shimming a .355" shaft into a .370" hosel bore.

Do you have a shim for a .335 parallel tip shaft going into a .355 tapered hosel? I could also bore out the hosel to .370 if you have a shim that will go from .335 to .370.

Asked by: Phil

Keep in mind the .355" taper tip hosel bore is .355" at the very bottom and tapers out to approximately .370" where the shaft exits the top of the hosel. You would have to create a shim and it would possibly have to be 2 pieces. If you rebore to .370" the SHIM30 will work to shim the .335" shaft into the .370" hosel bore. I have done this before and it fit fine and worked well.

I have a Bettinardi BB50 long putter that I am trying to reshaft into standard length (thanks, R&A).  The tip diameter is .390" and I'm trying to install a UST shaft with a .370" tip diameter.  Do you have a shim that would take the .370 tip to .390?

Asked by: RHaynes
Possibly the SHIM15 would work. You need a .020" size shim which we do not have. Another option would be to use part of the sleeve from an SADI Bushing Ferrule Adaptor. These are sized for a .400" hosel bore but being plastic they can be carefully sanded down to fit a .390" hosel bore and the iron sleeve inside diameter is sized for a .370" tip diameter shaft. http://www.golfworks.com/bushing-ferrule-adaptors/p/SADW/
