The GolfWorks Industry Standard Grip Tape

The industry standard tape for installing slip-on or leather grips. Sticky on both sides and activated with solvent. Also keeps grip collars in place. Choose from 18mm wide for spiral winding or 48mm wide for faster length-wise application (preferred by most clubmakers). Also available in a shorter 18yd roll and 10" pre-cut strips.
The GolfWorks Industry Standard Grip Tape is rated 4.777777777777778 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wide grip tape does what it is supposed to do As a 30+ year customer with Golfworks, I can attest 99% of the products are top quality and do what they are supposed to do. The staff and shipping are accomplished and fast. When I do get a product that is less than satisfactory, then Golfworks works to make it correct. I like this wide grip tape because I build up the underlistings of many grips, and a wider, thicker piece of tape is faster than wrapping the less wide tapes. Golfworks tape is a true masking tape variety, and I like it better than some of the other companies' thinner thickness tapes. They are little more than sticky films; this is a real tape. I feel like that I will continue to order this tape for a decade to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I just re-gripped my friends clubs using this grip tape and the rest of what I bought at GolfWorks. Everything was great and so easy to use. I highly recommend these items. They make re-gripping a snap. (Items were: grip tape, grip solvent, and the GolfWorks quick grip device).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tape I have used this tape for years and it always works great, even when it sits in my garage for months at a time it still holds up well and retains its stickiness.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Actually a little disappointing! This tape was a disappointing in that the adhesive was not consistent. This was only noted to be true on the "sticky" side, not the top side that is activated with solvent. It remains to be seen if this results in any problems.

What mm tape do I need

Asked by: bigotae
This grip tape is approximately 2" wide and will work with all shafts. As to what length you would need that depends on how many clubs you will be regripping. You can calculate approximately a 10" strip to regrip each club.

what size is most convenient for easy application

Asked by: JCD
The majority of clubmakers use the 48mm or 2" wide double-sided grip tape and find it easier to install the the 18mm or 3/4" wide tape.

Why is build up tape and your double-sided strips sold as 2" wide and your double-sided rolls are 48mm? 50mm is closer to 2"...I don't get it. Is there an industry standard? Thank you.

Asked by: birddog
It is just the way the manufacture chooses to list the width of the tape. I just measured the width of the double sided grip tape roll and it measured right at 2".
