True Temper Score LT Steel Iron Shaft Specifications

True Temper Score LT Steel Iron Shafts is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Match! I bought these about a month ago to replace a similar shaft with a different flex. These Score LT Steel shafts have performed just as I expected. I notice the desired consistency with every club.

I made my husband clubs using these irons and Ltech heads. I am in the process of making the hybrids and can not figure out what length to make them. The chart for standard lengths only gives lengths for women. Please advise?

Asked by: Lynn E
With a steel shaft like this we would recommend the following lengths: 3H = 39" 4H = 38.5" 5H = 38"

I purchased this shaft for the Trouble-Out Chipper. Trim Sheet does not show trim instructions for this head. Looking for R Flex Code to use for the Chipper. Your recommendation please.

Asked by: Lou
With the Score LT for an R flex you would follow trim code IR6 and we would tell you to tip trim the shaft for a Wedge which would be 4" tip trimming in this case. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/shaft_trim_inst.pdf

Please explain the shaft stiffness: R/S Is this either regular or stiff, or is it somewhere between regular and stiff? Thank you.

Asked by: Scott
When you see a shaft flex listed as R/S it means that the shaft is a combination flex shaft that can be trimmed to play at either an R flex or an S flex by following the trimming instructions. If we were installing this shaft into a 6 iron and making it an R flex we would cut 2" from the tip end (clubhead end) of the shaft and then cut it to the 6 iron finished length from the butt end (grip end) of the shaft. If we were making it an S flex we would cut 3.5" from the tip end of the shaft and again cut it to the finished length of the 6 iron from the butt end of the shaft.

can the true temper score LT shafts be tip trim to a firm flex if so how much do you trim ?

Asked by: john
You would follow trim code IR6 for an R flex and IR11 for an S flex. IR6 for a 6 iron says tip trim 2" for an R flex and 3.5" for an S flex. To make it a firm flex in between and R and S flex you would tip trim the 6 iron 2.75". Just go right in between the amounts for the R and S flex recommendations. Would you recommend these shafts for Taylormade RSI-1 irons Stiff +1/2 inch do I have to tip trim a extra 1/2 over trim chart to kept my stiff flex?

Asked by: Tebert72
Assuming the shaft specifications fit your needs they could match well with the RSi 1 irons. The general rule of thumb that I would recommend for additional tip trimming is that when you are assembling longer then standard tip trim half of what you are going longer. So in this case if you are assembling to +1/2" trim an additional 1/4" to maintain your S flex. The butt end of the shaft is the stiffest end so when you make a club over length it is not a 1 to 1 change in shaft stiffness. Testing shows half maintains the shaft flex. These are only a 41" raw length shaft and with these iron heads you should have enough room to do the additional tip trimming with these shafts. Another option would be to simply tip trim to the finished length for each club.
