Universal Golf Shaft Extensions

The Universal Shaft extensions will work with almost any steel or graphite shaft. After applying a little epoxy, insert the extension into a shaft, force the provided tapered plug into the extension until the extension expands to fit the ID of the golf shaft. Its that simple. 3 per pack.
Universal Golf Shaft Extensions is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Universal Shaft extension These were easy to install. I added epoxy to the mix so they are not going anywhere. I did mess one up but a heat gun can melt the epoxy and it was easy to remove. You can also drill through the plug with a long bit. I have been playing the set I extended for about 4 rounds now. None of the extensions have come loose or gotten squirrely. These are light so they don't add much weight to the club. I now have a set of forged bladed irons long enough for me to play and I really enjoy the old school Ben Hogan feel of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Great I used these extensions on a set of graphite shafted irons to extend them all 1/2 inch. The openings were .490. To make these extensions work I used a hacksaw on the end along the two slot openings. I also used a razor to take additional material off the slot until the extension compressed into the shaft without too much force. Once I was comfortable with the fit, I inserted them with epoxy. I also dipped the pin tips in epoxy before driving them into the extension. These extensions are there to stay.

Will these extensions work on clevland 588 altitude irons with Actionlite shafts with a 600 butt end?

Asked by: WILFRED
The Universal Extension will not fit these graphite shafts. With the ActionLite being a very light weight shaft the USGE extension should be the one that will fit the best. http://www.golfworks.com/graphite-shaft-extensions/p/GSE/

I assume the extension should be cut to the required extension length first, so as making it easier to insert the expansion insert? Correct?

Asked by: Wedge
You could cut it to length first or you could install it and then cut it to length. With the Universal Extension being able to get the pin installed in the proper place is very important so if cutting to length first helps you to do this then I would suggest cutting first.

Can this be used to fix a broken putter shaft

Asked by: brii
Depends where the break is located. These extensions are only 3" in length. If the break is at or near the top of the handle this extension would work. If the putter is broken somewhere in the middle, you probably need to buy a putter shaft.

Will this fit into a Scotty Cameron standard length putter shaft? Thank you.

Asked by: LMRLMR
This should work. Depending on which Cameron putter you have and which shaft it has Cameron putter could have either a .580" butt diameter shaft and other models will have .600" butt diameter shafts.

In the photo of the Universal Extension, what is the item shown next to the tip of the extension used for?

Asked by: TimR
A tip plug is included with each extension. After applying epoxy to the shaft extension, you insert the extension into the shaft, then insert the tip plug into the extension and force it down. This will expand the extension tip to fit the inside shaft diameter.

do glue the in with epoxy

Asked by: gonzo
Yes, the Universal Extensions should be installed using epoxy. The Golfworks does carry an extension epoxy VB1009 that can be used to install the extensions.
