What is Pureing

Asked by: Jack
Basically there is no such thing as a perfectly round or perfectly straight golf shaft. Puring identifies these manufacturing tolerances so that the shaft can be installed into a position to make it play as if it were perfectly round and straight which will promote more consistent golf shots. You can see more about shaft Puring at this link. http://sstpure.com/

I want to replace my existing Matrix Velox Regular shaft in my Jet Speed Taylor Made driver with a stiff shaft that will produce less spin.  This UST Mamiya  AXIVCORE Tour Green shaft seems to be acceptable.  Can you confirm that this shaft will work?

Asked by: Bob D
Go with the Blue low bend point high launch less spin or the Black mid bend much less spin than the Green have them add the Taylor made adapter it will come ready to go fighting. David, The Pro Shop Florida

I have a UST Proforce AXIV Core 69 Tour Black 69 gram with .610 OD butt (your number 3B2H) .  It does NOT have the word 'Mamiya' on the shaft labeling.  I need to know what the INSIDE DIAMETER of the butt is.  I need to install a graphite shaft extender.

Asked by: Nashvegas122
When I measure this it shows you need the Green coded extension (.5225") for this shaft. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_GW4000

Looking to get an axiv shaft, but want to extend it. Not sure what size extension to buy with it. Can you help?

Asked by: hivesden
There can be slight variations from one Axivcore to the next (ie: Black, Blue, Green, etc.) because they are different designs, specs, weights, etc. Also, the inside diameters can vary slightly. I always recommend getting one of each, the USGE and the GSE, that way you can use the one that fits the best. Generally, if the shaft weight is 65 grams or less, the USGE is the one. If the shaft is over 65 grams, the GSE should work. It may be necessary to sand the portion of the extension that goes inside the shaft down slightly if it is too large, or shim with a strip of tape if too small. The shim should fit snug. We do not recommend extending graphite more than 1".
