Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice machine I purchased this unit to finish ferrules. It runs smooth, belts chage easy. The motir has good horsepower, the flapper wheel brads shafts nicely. It is a good unit with a nice compact size for your work bench. I always have to mention the great customer support from the folks at golf works.

Can the flap wheel be used for steel shafts as well as graphite?

Asked by: dbdors
The flap wheel will not properly abrade the steel shaft. With the graphite shafts it is good for removing the poly and paint coat without damaging the graphite fibers. With steel it does not abrade the steel well enough to properly bond.

I purchased the professional sanding machine as well as ttwo blue durabrite ferrule linens (1" by 42") bands. The bands thickness is binding at the front when I turn the unit on and burns the fuse almost immediately. The belts appear too thick. Help!!!

Asked by: rbrbuilt
If the belt is binding against the front work table you can adjust the work table to create a little more space. Under the work table there are 2 screws that you would loosen, slide the work table out and re tighten the screws.

I purchased this machine and it came with 2 sanding belts. What is used for turning ferrules? The sanding belts ruin a ferrule.

Asked by: BobA9
The sanding belts that come with the belt sander are sanding and not for ferrule turning. I recommend you purchase the 1x42" DuraBrite belts for finishing ferrules. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=GW1065&green=E4205EE0-1693-5C29-A1A6-42C933CD0CFA&utm_source=MyBuys&utm_medium=RSP&utm_campaign=WebRecUS
