Trimming Instructions

Aerotech SteelFiber Graphite Wood Shafts is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wood & Hybrid I have recently had AEROTECH STEELFIBER GRAPHITE SHAFTS put in my 3 wood and two hybrids and am pleased with the performance of these shafts. This is a great shaft choice for fairway woods and hybrids for the player looking for solid performance. Lighter than steel but with virtually the same benefits it is a perfect option for today's fairways and hybrids when looking to keep swing weights and overall club weight at a proper number. I find that this shaft performs very predictably with shots tightly grouped. It is not the lightest or longest shaft a player can buy but for use in these clubs better players should prefer superior control and consistently dependable distance shot after shot versus a very few yards in added length. There are more expensive shafts but this shaft delivers everything a player is looking for in a medium weight graphite shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shafts, especially for tight dispersion! I am a professional clubmaker, and in all my years I have never seen a better driver (and fairway) shaft for good dispersion. Easy to work with, and if there are any problems (rare in all my years), Aerotech stands behind them.

I need a shaft for my Ping 22 degree hybrid club. My 5 wood ping shaft is an aerotech bfs 780. Should I use the same shaft in my hybrid?

Asked by: Irish 1
You can, but the Ping hybrid takes a .370 tip shaft and the fairway uses a .335, so you can not use the exact same shaft. You could use the hls 780 Steelfiber hybrid that is .370 tip.

Trim instructions are W2 for 65 gram and W23 for 75 grams. This is different from the Aerotech site showing the same as W2 for both weights. What trimming instruction is correct?

Asked by: GbartML
When I look at this link on the Aerotech web site it shows closer to W23 for both shafts as being correct. http://www.aerotechgolfshafts.com/pdf/products/2010-SteelFiber-Wood-Shaft-Spec-Sheet-090831.pdf It shows both weights starting with 1" trim for the 3 wood, 1.5" for the 5 woods and 2" for the 7 woods. There is a little difference on Aerotech web site for the 9 wood for the 75 gram weight shaft. We may have went with W2 for the 65 gram weight shaft because it only has a 3,5" parallel tip length and we always recommend leaving 1.5" for proper lnstallation. The 75 gram weight shaft has a 5" parallel tip length. I would tell you to use Aerotech's trimming instructions

Thinking about putting the 75R shaft in my 9* Callaway BB DBD driver.  Besides pureing, should I specify any other services for the shaft?

Asked by: Fiddler
If you are having us install the shaft into the shaft adaptor you need to tell us which setting in the adaptor to align the puring mark to.

Is this shaft appropriate for a hybrid?  Aerotec  Steel fiber wood shaft

Asked by: Joe
We would not recommend this shaft for a hybrid. Most hybrids use a .370" tip diameter shaft. This wood shaft is a .335" tip diameter. Aero Tech does make a Steel Fiber Hybrid shaft. You can see the specifications by scrolling down the page to the specification box at this link. http://www.golfworks.com/aerotech-hls-graphite-hybrid-shaft/p/AT0022/

Do have the Aerotech Steelfiber Wood shaft in a .350 tip?

Asked by: Otto
We do not stock the Wood shafts in a .350" tip diameter but in looking at their web site I do see they offer them in a .350" tip diameter. We would be able to special order the shaft for you. You can contact customer service at 1-800-848-8358 and they will be glad to help you with this order.

Does wood shaft come lighter than 66grams R or S?r

Asked by: BW01
The lightest shaft option in the SteelFiber line is 66 grams. Aerotech does offer an excellent light weight shaft in the Powercoil that is 51 grams. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=AT0006W
