Is there any dfference between the Platinum and the black L/A? I'm 86 play 3 x a week. Went from Graffaloy Pro-lite iron to reg. iron shafts because Pro-lite too lite. Looking to go back to graphite that feels like iron. Recommendations ?

Asked by: Len
No, the L/A flex shafts are the same in both the Platinum and Black finish. Just a color change. These shafts being a little heavier in weight then the ProLite graphite shaft could help to give you more the feel of steel you are looking for.

You recommend this shaft for mid to high handicapper. Why do you not recommend it for a low handicapper? Thinking about putting it in Mizuno M29. Is it compatible?

Asked by: Texdawg
The Aldila Value Series shafts test and play a little more flexible then normal and generally the inexpensive graphite shafts are not quite as consistent in their specifications. Although these are better then most in their consistency. They could work for any handicap golfer depending on their individual needs. These shafts will not fit the Mizuno MP-29 irons. For the MP-29 irons you need .355" tip size iron shafts.

Would this shaft pair well with the dbm heads? Looking for a higher trajectory.

Asked by: cmcd17
Yes the Value Series shafts will work fine with the DBM irons and should help create a higher trajectory.

Do .370 parallel tip graphite iron shafts need to be tip trimmed? If so, is there an industry standard? Or are they unique to each shaft manufacturer?

Asked by: Bill
Basically all .370" tip size graphite iron shafts need to be tip and butt trimmed. There is no industry standard as it will vary with different shaft manufactures and shaft models. For the Aldila Value Series iron shafts they offer an L/A combinations flex which can be cut to an L (Ladies) flex or A (Senior) flex. The L follows trim code IR6 and the A flex the IR12 code. The R/S combination flex shaft follows IR6 for the R flex and IR12 for the S flex. At this link scroll down to the second page and you will see the Iron Trim Chart with these codes. https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/shaft_trim_inst.pdf
