Trimming Instructions

Aldila Value Series Graphite Wood Shaft is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Added a boatload more distance Being skeptical about graphite shafts I chose this model due price and figured if it broke easily I wouldn't be out a lot of cash. Installed this on a new 460cc head driver, cut the recommended specs for stiff flex and was greatly surprised as to how well the shaft performed. Not meant for a grip and rip application, but it can handle the torque. Making the switch to graphite is an easier choice, and it added 50-75 yds. distance off the tee box. For an inexpensive shaft, it works very well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid I purchased a l/a flex shaft for use in a 3 wood for my nephew who is 12. I tried it in 2 different clubheads. Both clubs were awful. The clubhead in unstable through impact and delivers inconsistent results. It feels lousy with no connected to the clubhead feeling you get from a decent shaft. I would choose a steel shaft over this everytime. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this shaft. Definite bo NOT buy rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shaft orientation. I am an 82 year old, golfing for 60 yr. who shoots in the 80s. I got my driver fitted by a PGA club fitter who had all the equipment (head speed. launch angle, ball speed etc.). He recommended an Aldlila shaft (NVD 55) at 46" and a 460cc, 10.5 deg head. I could not hit this club as well as my old driver (no feel, shorter shots to the right. I removed this shaft and installed the Aldila VXWAL trimmed to 44". What a difference?. Straight with slight draw and 20 yrds. farther. My method of orienting the shaft to club head is as follows: 1.Snug fit club head to shaft so that it can be rotated without falling off. 2. Clamp the butt end in the playing position (approx. 57 deg to ground). 3. Pluck the shaft in the target direction and note the oscillation. It should oscillate straight back and forth. If not rotate the club head/shaft position until you find a straight back and forth oscillation. 4. Mark and epoxy this orientation.

I just purchased this Adila shaft for a 9 wood and there are 2 codes for trimming?? W5/W15 which do I use?

Asked by: Forefun
You would use W5 if you want to make it an L (Ladies) flex and W15 if you want to make it an A (Senior) flex.

I'm new to The Golfwork and am not familiar with your tip trimming guide. Are there tip trimming instructions for Hybrids for this shaft?

Asked by: Average Golfer
You would want to use the AL0029 Aldila Series Hybrid shafts, which is a .370 tip. Most hybrids have a .370 hosel bore and a .335 tip diameter shaft is meant primarily for woods. If you have the rare hybrid that has a .335 hosel diameter, you would need to find a .335 hybrid specific shaft. The only one we carry would be the UST Proforce V2 Hybrid shaft (US0013H .335 tip option).

I would like to buy some shafts for my dad, he has the ping i25, will this work for him. He is 64, good swing and uses project x6.0 but it loosing distance. You suggested the xcaliber before, will those work or are this better? Thanks

Asked by: Juan
The Ping i25 irons use a .355" taper tip shaft and the Aldila Value Series iron shaft is only available in a .370" tip size which is to big to fit the Ping i25 irons. If you need a senior flex shaft for you dad the only ones we stock in a .355" taper tip are the Aerotech Steel Fiber 70CW (AT0020IE) A flex and the Paderson Kinetixx TS-I Trajectory Series (Pk0105) A flex. If he uses an R flex the Xcaliber Irons (AS0028) are a very good inexpensive shaft that will work with the Ping i25 irons.

I have a taylormade r11  stage 2 driver with a rocketfull by fujikura shafts 50 grams it's to flex for me, would one of your 60 grams regular shafts fit my club, if so what do I need to put one on head?

Asked by: arty
The R11 driver uses a .350" tip diameter shaft. To install a .335" tip diameter shaft you will need a TM0016 shaft adapter. The Aldila Value Series shaft is a heavier weight shaft at 77 grams. You might look at the AldaLite (AL0055) in an R flex which is a 55 gram weight shaft.

Is this a good shaft for a driver

Asked by: Black 7
It can be a good driver shaft assuming the flexes and playing characteristics match the players needs. By today's standards for shaft weights used in drivers the Value Series is on the heavy side at 87 grams. If you are looking for a good inexpensive lighter weight shaft the new AldaLite (AL0062) at 60 some grams of weight could be a good choice.

Im looking for some graphite shafts for my dads cleveland cg red. Which ones do you suggest, he is using the project x 6.0 and looses lots of distance with it. Thanks

Asked by: Juan
The Cleveland CG Red irons use a .355" taper tip shaft. The Alida Value Series is only available in a .370" parallel tip, which is to larger to fit the Cleveland irons. I would suggest the Xcaliber Iron shafts AS0028, which are a very good inexpensive .355" taper tip shaft. They could work well.
