Xcaliber Shaft Specifications

AXE XCaliber Tour SWD50 Graphite Wood Shaft is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance, great price I just played my 1st round with the SWD50. I had it SST pured and installed it in a SLDR driver head. Great feel, excellent distance. The tip is stiff (mine measured 2.3 degrees of torque) but I would think that this would translate into less driver spin. I had no difficulty getting the ball airborn. In fact, I think the trajectory was just about perfect. I don't have data to say that it is definitely longer than the stock TM Fujikura, but my impression is that it is longer, feels better, and finds the fairway more often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST SHAFT I'VE EVER USED! I bought this shaft to try a stiffer tip section. I broke my old shaft at the hosel, and a friend recommended I go to a stiffer tip (stiffer flex) than I had been using. I have been playing X-Caliber shafts on my other clubs, and love them, so I thought I would try the SWD50 for one of my drivers. WOW! Right off the bast I noticed an incredible improvement in the feel of the club, and the launch of the ball. It felt like I just gained a lot of power in my drives. My golf mentor told me I should have been playing a stiffer flex on my driver all along, and my increase in distance and control are an example of that. Took me a round to get used to the difference in feel and ball flight from my old R Flex shaft, but after that - Man What a Difference! I liked it so much, I am coming back today to buy 2 more of the same shaft!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Feel I have tried allot of the high dollar Top Shelf shafts and I keep coming back to this one! The feel is spot on and the distance is as good as any shaft I have hit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shaft for the price any where Actually I think it might be one of the best shafts for any price, don't think because it's inexpensive it's not a great shaft. Find the one that fits your swing and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I keep trying to put a fancy high end shaft in my driver and always come back to Axe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good shaft Replaced Aldilla SVS 60 with this SWS50 R-flex, because of shoulder injury. Nice a little higher trajectory with good spin...

What shaft would work best with a Cobra Fly Z+ driver. I currently play the stock matrix shaft in a stiff flex but find it a bit whippy towards impact and the weight too light to the point that I lose feel for the club head on my down swing. Thank you!

Asked by: MrM
The SWD50 could be a good choice. It is a very tip stiff shaft designed to produce a low ball flight. It will play a little stiffer then normal compared to other 50 gram weight shafts. The Kuro Kage Silver (MR0036) could be another good choice.

Is this shaft still in production? If not, could you recommend a low/mid launch shaft in a 50g weight class?

Asked by: Extremo Vettimo
Xcaliber is suppose to be redesigning their whole product line with new graphics etc. So far we have not seen the new products. So currently as we sell out of these existing products we will not be getting more of them in stock. I have not update information as to when we might see or have the new product line. The SWD50 is one of the stiffest tip shafts at any weight and probably the lowest launching 50 gram weight shaft. There really is not what I would call a good replacement. The Aldila NV 55 is stiffer through the butt and middle part of the shaft but not as tip stiff. It would probably be my next choice.

I am currently playing a RUL 60 Stiff in RBZ 2 Tour Head. What would you recommend with SWD50 to replace the Rul 60. My swing speed is avg of 102. Really wanting to try one of these shafts. Also would like to purchase adapter for the RBZ 2. Thanks Jim

Asked by: Jim
Your swingspeed puts you into an S flex and with the SWD50 that should be fine. For the RBZ Stage 2 Tour driver we have the BB9065 shaft adaptor. http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-universal-taylormade-shaft-adaptor/p/BB9065/

Had a question in the SWD Stiff and would like to know if possible what the CPM would be at 45" in a Driver as I like it to be around 260. Thanks

Asked by: mhb50
I happen to have an SWD 50 S flex assembled to 45" D1 with a standard size Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip and the frequency reading is 251 cpm's.

Which shaft, if any, has an adapter that fits the Ping G driver?

Asked by: Buddy
The Ping G driver and shaft adapter uses a .335" tip diameter shaft. So any .335" tip diameter wood shaft like the Xcaliber Tour SWD50 will fit. The G30 shaft adaptor we sell does fit the Ping G driver. http://www.golfworks.com/ping-g30-series-shaft-adaptor/p/PGC002/

I have a Cleveland HiBore XLS Tour 9.5. I used to have a Fujikura Tour Platform Stiff shaft that worked great for my speed (105-110), but it broke.  I want to have something similar.  Would this be an appropriate replacement?  Do I need an adapter?

Asked by: Spivy
There was a Tour Platform 26.3 60 gram weight shaft and 27.3 70 gram shaft. The 27.3 70 gram shaft was more for a mid ball flight and the 26.3 60 gram shaft was more for a mid/high ball flight. In the Xcaliber shafts the 6+ (AS0042) could be a good replacement for the 26.3 as well as the Graphite Design YS6+ (YS633WPL). The Graphite Design YS7+ (YS733WPL) could be a good replacement for the 27.3. http://www.golfworks.com/axe-xcaliber-rt-graphite-wood-shafts/p/AS0040/ http://www.golfworks.com/graphite-design-ys-6-graphite-wood-shaft/p/YS633WPL/ http://www.golfworks.com/graphite-design-ys-7-graphite-wood-shafts/p/YS733WPL/

what is the puring line which is red on top go for a lefty ? how to trim for reg. 5 wood ?

Asked by: Richard
For a lefty you align the Red line on the back of the shaft. The SWD 50 is a butt cut only shaft per the recommended instructions, even for a 5 wood. The trim code is W1. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/shaft_trim_inst.pdf
