Arthur Xtreme Engineering Xcaliber Graphite Iron Shaft Specifications

AXE XCaliber Tour X Graphite Irons Shaft is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft! I put a set of these in my irons and wedges a few months ago. My reason was to remedy some elbow issues I've had the last 2 years, and I thought going to graphite was a good answer. I love the feel of these sticks. Yes, it's a little muted, and yes, it's unique. But the performance speaks for itself. Great trajectory, feel, and distance. I really didn't see a difference in yards and trajectory over my old shafts (FST Pro 125s, still a very good shaft), but the feel is unmistakable. And my elbows will tell you that. The heads may change, but these shafts will probably stay in the bag for awhile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! I put together 2 sets of the 85 gram shafts, one for my customer in in regular flex and one for me in stiff. Simply, amazing shafts. First, we both score in the 70's are 61 and 60 years old. We get compliments on the looks everywhere, but the performance of this shaft is what stands out. Both of us are 1 club longer, hit it higher, but accuracy is what makes this shaft a pure winner. Aim it, make your swing and hit your target. We switched from DG Lite shafts and installed them to the Maltby MMB-17 irons. Try a demo with one shaft and see for yourself. Thanks Robin and thank you Golfworks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Shaft Very solid feeling shaft similar to the steelfiber but with a softer feeling tip, which was what I didn't like about the SF. Tested an 95g Reg against an Xcal SL in two S56 7i, side by side , same length, swingweight, grip, loft, only difference was the shaft. Slightly higher launch angle with higher spin rates than the SL and a little tighter dispersion.About 5-7 yds more carry on ave than the SL

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AXE TOUR X 95 S I have the Tour X 95 S paired with the DBM Forged heads and I have been blown away by the performance. I was previously playing the Srixon Z 745s, the "It" iron of 2015. This combination has easily outperformed the Srixons. What stands out the most is the accuracy. Shot after shot is tight to the pin. Flight is mid high but not ballooning. Distance was on par with the Srixon's loft for loft. Feel is fantastic and there is no guessing if you hit a great shot, feedback is just enough with no hint of harshness. Last of all is the value of these shafts, with all of the AXE shafts, there is no better deal in golf. As a final note the touch and feel around the greens is an added bonus. They respond very well to tight little chip shots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Unique" is appropriate... The description for this shaft states "unique" to describe the feel. I would say that's appropriate as it's nothing like I have hit before. I purchased the TS flex and it's feels like it has an active tip from just before, through, and just after the hitting zone. I am a high ball hitter though the trajectory is mid-low boring from the tee, rough and fairway. I believe it's a great blend of steel and graphite and you should expect the feel associated with that blend. Pure muted if I had to describe it. If you like something that draws attention out of the bag, this is it. This thing is good looking and I am really excited to continue playing it. I paired the shaft it have Maltby KE4 HDI 17* and so far it's great. AXE has a very good product here and I hope it continues to work out well for me

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Shafts I have purchased two sets of these now and they perform very well! They look amazing and feel great. Distance is comparable to other graphite shafts I have owned and the ball flight is slightly lower than most.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice shaft! I purchased the Tour X 105 gram stiff shafts. I was a bit concerned from reviews I had read saying that these shaft's tips were very stiff. I found the shafts to be smooth and stable. I play graphite shafts on my irons for less stress on my joints from Rheumatoid Arthritis. These shafts fit the bill. There is nothing harsh about them at all. I picked up about 5-10 yards per iron and the ball is going straight. The shafts have also helped me lower my ball flight. My previous ball flight was very high. Very pleased with this shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best iron graphite shafts on the market! I'm a professional clubmaker with about 15 years of experience, and I can say without a doubt that these are the best performing graphite iron shafts that have ever been made. I have compared the feel and performance of the Tour X shafts side by side with all the other latest high tech "hybrid" graphite shafts (made partially with steel or titanium) such as the Aerotech SteelFiber, UST Recoil, and Loomis EFP, and the Tour X shafts are the most consistent and best feeling of the bunch. I personally switched out my set to these shafts, coming from FTS Tour 90 stiff steel shafts and going to the Tour X 95S, and in the first year using them I dropped my handicap by 6 strokes! There wasn't any weight difference coming from my FST Tour 90 shafts, but somehow I still gained about 1 full club length with these shafts, and I also improved my accuracy tremendously. I feel like I'm throwing darts at the green with my irons these days, and it's an amazing and highly satisfying feeling! These come in a wide variety of weights and flexes (from 85-105g and from Senior to Tour Stiff flex), so I highly recommend you get fitted for the proper model and give them a shot! Just try reshafting one club and I'm pretty sure you'll end up doing the rest of the set. Oh yeah, and it's a nice perk that they're also one of the most unique looking shafts on the market too, with the visible metal weave pattern on the lower portion of the shaft and a nice silky-matte finish up top. Very classy!

Which of your graphite shaft extensions would work best with the 95g, regular flex Tour X iron shaft?

Asked by: Brian
The GW4000 Gold (.500") should fit this shaft.

When do you expect to get the 95 gram stiff shafts in stock?

Asked by: Mike
We will not be getting any more of the Xcaliber 95 gram shafts in stock. The current product line if out of production and Xcaliber was suppose to have a new product line to replace it but we have not seen anything from them. It is likely we will not have Xcaliber shafts once the current inventory is sold out.

Im wondering when the 95g will be back in stock...Are these available in a club pak?

Asked by: chris
It will not be back in stock. The current line of Xcaliber shafts has been discontinued and was suppose to be replaced with a new product line but we have not yet seen the new product line. It is looking like going forward that we will not longer have the Xcaliber line of shafts.

Would like to know if these have a low balance point as there counter parts red iron shafts

Asked by: Mike
No the Xcaliber Tour X shafts are not a low balance point shaft like the Red shafts. They are actually a high balance point, but just high of center.

I have a set of hogan magnum wide soul clubs, can you tell me what size hostle I have. I want to replace the steel shaft with graphite and need info on a senior shaft

Asked by: Lance
The Hogan Magnum irons use a .355" taper tip shaft. The only .355" taper tip senior flex graphite shafts we have are the Aerotech Steelfiber 70CW (AT0020IE) and the Paderson Kinetixx TS-I Trajectory Series (PK0105). http://www.golfworks.com/aerotech-steelfiber-70-cw-graphite-iron-shafts-355/p/AT0020IE/ http://www.golfworks.com/paderson-kinetixx-ts-i-355-graphite-iron-shafts/p/PK0105/

I've purchased the 95 gram R flex and would like to make a firm flex between R and S. How much would you recommend I trim the 5 - wedge shafts?

Asked by: Rob
To create an in between flex (Firm) with these shafts you need to add 1/2" to the recommended tip trimming. So with the 5 iron where it recommends 1" tip trimming you need to trim 1.5" to create the firm flex.

what's the best shaft for seniors both woods & irons

Asked by: rich65
The Xcaliber shafts in senior flex are very good but unfortunately we are currently backordered on most of their shafts and will not have them in until the middle of January 2017. The UST dhi Driver (US0082) shaft, which can also be used in fairway woods and the dhi iron (US0084) shaft are both available in Senior flex (A flex) and the feedback has been very good from these shafts.

Currently playing a set of DBM irons with FST Pro 125 stiff soft stepped once. Looking to possibly change to the Tour X regular Flex 95 gram shaft. what benefits and characteristics would I see changing to this shafts

Asked by: Rob
The graphite shafts will dampen vibration for a little softer feel. The lighter weight shaft could help you increase your swingspeed and gain a little more distance. If the FST shafts have been playing to heavy you may also gain some shot consistency with the lighter weight graphite shafts.
