Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good product The economy Iron Bending Machine is a good product. But I did not need to mount it to the floor. I bolted it to a heavy piece of steel angle and clamp that in a vise fixed to a solid bench. That puts everything in perfect position. I made one other change that makes it extremely easy to use. I had a helmet-mount bicycle mirror sitting around. Once stuck to the side of the angled part of the frame with double-stick foam tape, I was able to adjust it to allow me to see the alignment of grooves without moving from the back of the tool. This greatly simplifies the process and should be included in every unit sold.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble All in all a good enough product for my purposes. However the 'lie' gauge is 1 degree off to the upright direction. No biggie. The knob to tighten the clamp to the back face of the unit, the thread stripped after 2 clubs were adjusted. Ended up fitting a 3/8" nut and washer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small Adjustments This bender is just what I wanted. I only intended to make minor ajustments to some of my clubs. It is perfect for that. I made Avery heavy duty stand that has holes for my bench vice, putter bender, grip station and now irons and hybrid bender. GolfWorks Products have not failed me yet, been very happy. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the investment! Purchased after thinking something was of in my irons. I had to build a stand which was easy, then checked the L & L. 2 clubs were over 4 degrees off. Great for the tinkerer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done. Bought it a month ago. Set loft/lie on AP2's. Worked great. Buy upgraded bending bar. Leaves mark on forged hosel without brass inserts.

Is there a vice mount for this product?

Asked by: Joe
No, there is no vice mount option for the loft and lie bending machine. We do have a Bench Top Stand for this machine (GW0102).

Can this be easily attached to a vise or do you need to purchase the stand?

Asked by: frankb8740
You would have to create a way to be able to use secure the GW0053 in a vise. It will attach to the Bench Top Bending Machine Stand (GW0102). Our other floor stands would have to be modified by drilling new mounting holes to be able to mount the GW0053 bending machine.

Jim: 2 part question... Will the GW0053 attach to the MA 2003 Floor Mount Stand? If so, what is the spacing of the holes on the base of the stand? ( I want to put it where a Mitchell Stand was installed years ago.)

Asked by: JimS
No the GW0053 does not fit the floor stand. I will use your email address and send you an email with the hole pattern for the GW0053.

Which model stand fits this unit?  Is the equipment precise enough not to purchase a secondary loft lie measuring device?

Asked by: GroceryDude
This bending machine fits the GW0102 Bench Top Stand. With any bending machine if you truly want the clubs specifications you should have a Golf Club Gauge. Bending machines read the lie angle off the scoring lines and the scoring lines are not always parallel tip the center point of the sole. Bending machines have readings so that we can read the changes we make when adjustments. If you do a lie fitting and determine that the lie needs to be adjusted 1 degree flat you can put the club in a bending machine, read the lie angle from the scoring lines, make the 1 degree adjustment, and read that 1 degree change. Loft reading are generally pretty close and consistent.

How does this machine compact to Golfsmith's precision L/L machine?

Asked by: John C
Since Golfsmith is no longer in business I am looking in one of their older catalogs at a Bending Machine that they referred to as the "Basic Loft & Lie Bending Machine" that sold in 2008 for $299.99. Our GW0053 is comparable to that machine. What they called the Ultimate Loft & Lie Bending Machine would compare to our MA2017.
