FST 90 Steel Iron Shafts

FST 90 Steel Iron Shafts are 25% lighter than conventional steel golf shafts. Lighter weight allows for a golf club with a lower center of gravity which produces a higher launch.

  • Available in A/R combination flex only

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft at a GREAT price! I have been using this shaft for many years, especially with customers who maybe are playing graphite today and would like to try steel again. It is so smooooth and consistent to build with. I just built my last three sets of Tom Wishon Sterling Single Length irons with them at 37" and they pair VERY well with that set. Only down side is that you can really only tip them to an R flex at best, so if you want a S flex you would need to look elsewhere, but most of my customers at this weight are not looking for a S or X flex, so it REALLY hits the mark for them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I could not believe this Shaft I bought a set of Amp irons and they had these Shafts in them but had been cut off. I have always been a KBS or steelfiber Shaft. I have a set of Cobra forged pro muscleback heads. I thought I would see if they would fit. I called Cobra and ask was my heads 355 T Tip and they said yes. I tried one anyway. I am 69 and have a 2 HCP. They did fit. They were FST 115 and when I got to range I hit some balls and said where have you been all my life. They hit and felt so much better than the KBS 90 R. Birdied 5 in a row. What a shaft. Golfworks has always had my business and I ordered a set of the 90 gram FST. The FST 115 got me at least 10 more yards!!! Can t wait to see what the 90 grams will do!! WOW!! Thanks FST!! David Potts!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expectations Met I was looking for the higher ball flight with the soft feel of the Maltby Heads as well as distance with the regular flex. As these are not my primary set, I also wanted to stay within a fixed budget. All of those have been met..The ball flight is a little lower then my other irons (Shafts- XP105 S300 @ 24.99 ea.). I have built clubs(Stiff and Regular) for friends before and they really like those shafts. A great shaft....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FST90 Steel Shaft I replaced the shafts in my wife's irons which were too heavy and wrong flex. She now hits the ball higher and straighter with less effort. The FST 90 was a better choice than any of the graphite options for irons. I soft stepped the A/R to make them closer to L Flex.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feel and Control Built these into a set of MMB 17s. MOI matched. These shafts feel very good with good control. My only complaint is with the labels. The stepping of the shafts doesn't lead to an easy application. They looked so hideous, that I removed them and left them off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I got this shaft because my 7 iron shaft snapped. I was impressed with the performance of the shaft. I thought that the ball flight was nicer and the club performed better than before. I felt like the ball flight was better.

would this shaft be good for a 58 degree sand wedge

Asked by: Buddy
If the specification of this shaft fit the player then it could work well in a 58 degree sand wedge. It also depends on what tip size shaft is needed for the sand wedge you have. Most of the major manufactures use a .355" taper tip shaft in their sandwedges. The FST 90 is only available in a .370" tip size. If you are using a GolfWorks wedge then this shaft will fit.

My wife is currently testing the Maltby TE and MMB17 heads with the KBS Tour 90 (currently uses SLDR with C-taper tour 90R). She is a pretty good golfer (3.1 index after 4 years) with decent club speed (250-270). How would the FST90 compare to the KBS?

Asked by: Nick
The FST 90 shaft will play more flexible cut to the same flex as the Tour 90. The Tour 90 is designed to produce a mid/high trajectory and the FST 90 a high trajectory.

i need to replace the shaft in nike vrs covert 5 iron(OEM-TT dynalite 90 R flex).Do you make an equivalent shaft?

Asked by: clubjunky
The FST 90 could make a good replacement. We also have the Dynalite 100, which is a little heavier but with the same playing characteristics as the Dynalite 90 which was made exclusively for Nike. https://www.golfworks.com/true-temper-dynalite-100-370-steel-iron-shafts/p/UMGLI/

I snapped the shaft on my Cobra Amp Cell 6 iron (Dynalite 90 Regular). What would be a good replacement shaft? Thanks.

Asked by: John
The Dynalite 100 (UMGLI) would be a very good replacement. Slightly heavier in weight but the same playing characteristics and the closest replacement we would have. https://www.golfworks.com/true-temper-dynalite-100-370-steel-iron-shafts/p/UMGLI/

Hi. My name is elie Do you ship to spain? I have a set of G20 irons and they are sinor flex. I did a fiiting with ping and now i need regular and 90 grams or grafite 70 grams. What can you recomend that will not mlbe do expensive to change my shafts.

Asked by: elie
The Ping G20 irons use a .355" taper tip shaft. We do not have any steel shafts in the 90 gram weight range in a Senior flex with a .355" taper tip. In a 75 gram weight graphite shaft we also do not have a Senior Flex in a .355" taper tip.

My son broke the shaft of his Adams A12 OS 7 iron. Adams used an 85 gram shaft made for them by True Temper. Would this be a good replacement or do you have a better suggestion?

Asked by: WBgolf
That shaft would be ok if you need an A or R flex. The closest replacement is code# TT0066 True temper GS 85. We keep some of them on hand, but if you need one we don't currently have on hand, we can special order it from True Temper and have it to you within 1-2 weeks.

I'm replacing a broken shaft in a rocketblade 7 iron with a rocket fuel 85 shaft. Is the FST 90 the best option or do you have another recommendation?

Asked by: Bailey
The FST 90 is a fair replacement option. You could also look at True Temper XP95 (TT0113)

I'm looking to pull the uniflex shafts from my Callaway X20s, do you recommend these if I cut them as a regular flex ..I feel uniflex is too wippy at the 3 & 4 ...and of course the heads are heavy

Asked by: golfer101
Generally a Uniflex is meant to be between an R and S flex so cutting to an R flex would be more flexible then the Uniflex. The FST 90 as well as the other FST shafts we stock test and play more flexible then their listed flex. So I do not feel that the FST 90 will accomplish what you are trying to do here. With an FST shaft you might want an S flex to get to the feel you are looking for.
