Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holding fast... What a pleasant surprise to find I can still order an exact match for the Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip I ordered several years ago-- maybe as many as five. I need one more to make up a set of two hybrid long irons, and they are still to be had. Wonderful!!

I have an older set of Adams Tight Lies Irons. Do I need the .600 or .580 grips?

Asked by: Todd15
Most of the Adams Tight Lies Irons we have in our data base dating back to the late 90's show to have a .600 butt diameter shaft. In that time frame, if it is the original shaft, there is a good chance it is .600.

How do you know whether the 0.58 or 0.60 is needed?

Asked by: Todd15
The .580 or 58 and the .600 or 60 are the core diameters of the grips. Putting a .580 grip on a shaft butt diameter of .580 gives you a "standard" grip size. The same for the .600 - putting a .600 core grip on a .600 butt diameter shaft, gives you a standard size grip. If you put the .580 grip on a .600 butt diameter shaft, you get a grip size of 1/64" oversize. Below is a link to a grip sizing chart that will explain more. https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/GripSizing2.pdf

Which is better to do to install grips with rib reminder: install the rib kit and then use rounded grips or install already ribbed grips?

Asked by: Eddieboy
If the grip I normally use is available with a rib I would just install the ribbed grips but if the grips I like are not available with a rib then I would use the rib grip kit. Being able to install a rib in a grip that is not available with one is the reason we made the rib kit.

Does the .600 (Rib) actually have a rib?

Asked by: Eddieboy
Yes the Tour Velvet VT grips have a ribbed built into the back side of the grip. I have personally played these grips for a number of years now.

Grip I am trying to match says Tour Velvet Mid-Size?

Asked by: BigDaddy
You want the Tour Velvet VTMR60 grips. At the moment we have them listed as 1/16" Oversize but that is the Mid Size grip and does say Mid Size on the grip cap. http://www.golfworks.com/golf-pride-tour-velvet-oversized-golf-grips/p/VTMR60/

whats the difference between rib and round option. Is there a rib already in it?

Asked by: bray27
The Ribbed grip has a raised ridge that runs down the back side of the grip. It serves as a reminder when you put your hands on the grip to get them in the same position everytime. The Round grip is round in circumference. These days round grip are the more popular choice and there are not as many ribbed grip options as there was in the past. Some of the manufactures like Callaway and Ping will used ribbed grips on their game improvement iron designs.
