Grafalloy Bi-Matrix Tour Proto-Type Wood Shafts

The Grafalloy BiMatrx Tour Prototype Wood Shaft brings the stability of steel and the high performance of graphite together for the ultimate in performance . through a proprietary process, the ultralight high performance graphite body is combined with a premium steel tip section resulting in the best combination possible for performance and control. The ultralight graphite body provides the distance, and steel tip provides the accuracy. The bend profile provides a low, penetrating ball flight, and when combined with slightly higher driver lofts can provide a high launch angle with lower spin rates to maximize distance. This versatility in creating different launch conditions based on loft and swing speeds makes the Grafalloy BiMatrx Tour Prototype Wood Shaft one of the most versatile high performance shafts available.

Available in R, S, and X in 6 different colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best awesome shaft in the market !!!!! I'm a left handed player and in the past i played with a lot of good shaft (but not perfect) (prolaunch red , prolaunch blue , ust proforce v2 and proforce gold . aldila nv , diamana blue board ,project x(blue), futjikura speeder vc 6.0, and lot of shaft oem.....But nothing equal the accuracy , consistency and performance of grafalloy bi-matrix tour prototype shaft......In the past i'm a good hitter my driving accuracy percentage is 30 to 45 % average fairway and occasionally in the very very good game 57 to 64 % fairway hit.....I lost a lot of point of my handicap when i drove because my accuracy is bad....Now i hit 70 to 80% average of my fairway and the the duck hook is gone for ever .....Rookie blue of mygolfspy.com reviews this shaft and put the grafalloy bi-matrix $80 better than the graphite design ad di6 $380.....This shaft is awesome....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really disappointing Bought this shaft at the request of a client/ friend as a possible replacement on his driver. When it arrived I noticed the shaft had a slight bend, turned out It was in the graphite section. Interested in how it would flex I ran it through a zone profile or at least attempted to, the shaft cracked about nine inches back from the metal section. Golf works honored the warrantee but informed me this shaft should never be put on a frequency meter. My opinion - if it can't handle a zone profiling it probably wouldn't handle a 105-110 mph swing very long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shaft Love the look and feel. Works well with low spin driver to help get a better trajectory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and low spin! This is a great shaft. Low spin and firm but with a smooth feeling. The lower part seems heavier than that of an all graphite shaft, no doubt because of the metal bottom part. I had to put weights in the grip to adjust the swingweight to an acceptable number.

Can the shaft be trimmed down to 43" before shipment?

Asked by: Rafico
Yes the shaft could be cut to 43" before shipment. If you order on line you would check the tip and butt trimming box. At checkout in the Special Instructions box you can put the specification (43") that you want the shaft to be.

Can the stiff version be tipped to bring up the stiffness between a stiff and x flex?

Asked by: rcairns61
Yes you could tip trim 1/2" from the S flex to make it play in between the S and X flex. Cut this shaft carefully with a Chop Saw or similar blade. Do not cut this shaft with a Tube Cutter. You could split the shaft length wise if you cut it with the Tube Cutter.

What is the actual weight of the X flex shaft? I was using an Aldila Rogue Silver 70 X but it's true weight was 78 grams. I'm just wondering if the X flex is similar and closer to 90 or 80?

Asked by: Chris
The BiMatrx Tour Prototype X flex shaft weight we have in our database shows it to be 81 grams.

Looking for a specific pro launch driver shaft, older model describe as black below the grip and above the logo. Originally saw it on a king cobra driver.?

Asked by: Rayme
The older ProLaunch Platinum was black below the grip and was used by some of the manufactures. It was a good shaft. We last had this shaft in 2011 and no longer have any of these available. The R flex was 58 grams 3.5 degrees torque mid bend point and medium tip stiffness. The S flex was 63 grams 3.3 degrees torque and also mid bend point and medium tip stiffness. Grafalloy really does not have a shaft in their product line today that I would match up to the ProLaunch Platinum.

If I wanted to purchase the Pink shaft and cut it down for a 3W or 5W to play as a stiff, which flex should I get in order to obtain the correct flex when played?

Asked by: Alex35
The Bi-Matrix shafts can be used in fairway woods. The trimming instructions recommend butt cut only whether installed into a driver or fairway woods. The shaft does have a 3" parallel tip section so you could carefully tip trim up to 1.5" to adjust the flex of these shafts for your 3 and 5 woods. Possibly 1/2" for a 3 wood and 1" for the 5 wood assuming you make the 5 wood 1" shorter then the 3 wood. These shafts do tend to play a little stiffer then normal.
