Trimming Instructions

Grafalloy ProLaunch Red Graphite Iron Shaft is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel These shafts are the best I've experienced in my irons. I have a very high trajectory with the irons. These Reds brought my trajectory down to a mid flight with a penetrating ball flight. The low torgue is fantastic hitting out of the rough. I loved these shafts do much in my irons I put it in my Driver with even better results.

I have a set of Titleist AP1 716s. Are they taper tips, if so are they .355s

Asked by: Nowhere man
Yes the Titleist AP1 716 irons use a .355" taper tip shaft. .355" size iron shafts are taper tip and .370" size iron shafts are parallel tip.

I have a Ping G10 with a Grafalloy ProLaunch Red Hy Series shaft. Are these still made and if so what is the cost?

Asked by: DeVere Nelson
The ProLaunch Red Hy shafts have not been made for a few years now. Also the Ping G10 hybrid uses a .355" taper tip shaft.

It looks like the prolaunch red grafalloy shaft is no longer available. what is the best replacement?

Asked by: pete
We only have a few lengths of the TT0022 Pro Launch Red .355 taper tip iron shafts remaining. They wee discontinued several years ago. They were a 87-88 gram shaft with a high bend point and firm tip, which means they were a lower trajectory shaft. The AeroTech SteelFiber 80CW is a .355 taper tip shaft that weights 85 grams and is a mid trajectory shaft. That is the most similar in specification that we currently have.

do they make a senior flex in this shaft

Asked by: raymond2344
No Grafalloy never made a senior flex in the ProLaunch Red iron shafts. These shafts were discontinued a few years ago and what we have listed is all we have left.

I have a Nike convert 2.0 hybrid on the kuro kage black 70g but i want to fit the prolaunch red hy series that is actually on a Adams hybrid 2 head...I want to know if it's possible to fit it on the Nike head (hybrid 4) if yes how do I trim it. Thks

Asked by: Felixal
The Prolaunch red hybrid shaft should fit the Nike head. Both required a .370 tip hybrid shaft. As far as the trim, unless there was a difference in head weight, or in the length you were going to play, it is difficult to be specific on any trim adjustment you might make. If the Nike head was significantly heavier, like 7 grams or more, you could trim a little from the tip to maintain the same flex feel with the heavier head weight. This would affect the playing length and assuming the clubs were the same length to begin with, anything you trim from the tip would make the playing length shorter.

I have a set of Nike VR-S Covert Irons: with Dynalite 90 Steel shafts, R,S /95/ .370"/ .600"/. I would like to have them switched to graphite shafts but I have no idea what I am looking for. Can you recommend a few different shafts.

Asked by: Chuckster
I would look at some shafts like the Kuro Kage Black 2nd Gen (MR0046). It is a mid trajectory shaft that could work well with the VR-S Covert Irons. Another very good shaft would be the Xcaliber (AS0023) which is a mid high trajectory shaft. The Dynalite 90 shaft is a mid high to high trajectory shaft. Other shafts like the Grafalloy ProCustom (TT202201) and Graphite Design G-Tech (GD0012) are also very good shafts that could work well. You might want to use our Maltby MPF Shaft Fitting program to help determine which shaft playing characteristics could best fit for you and see what shafts come up for you. http://www.golfworks.com/mpf-shaft-fitting-worksheet/a/496/
