Graftech GT 65 Graphite Golf Shaft Specifications

Graftech GT 65 Graphite Iron Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Add Yards I bought these shafts and put them in my KE-4 irons that I had assembled with steel shafts 8 years ago. My irons now travel about 10 yards farther and I can swing easier making my shots more accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved Distance I have used the new shafts four times and am hitting my irons 10-15 yards farther. They are also much easier on the hands and wrists than my steel shafts were. I am obviously very pleased with them.

what kick point low would be good

Asked by: big B
For a low kick point (high trajectory) a shaft like the Grafalloy ProCustom (TT201201) could be a good choice. Also the Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue Iron (TT0108) is a low bend point shaft design.

Hello, I broke my five iron shaft to my Taylor Made Rocket Ballz. I don't see a place to select which club I broke. Are they all the same size? Or  is it trim to length? Thank you

Asked by: Nikas
You will order the flex that you need, either the L/A for Ladies or Senior flex or R/S for Regular or Stiff flex and you will trim the shaft from both the tip and butt end to the flex and club number you need the shaft to be. For the R/S flex the R flex you would tip trim 1" for the 5 iron, install the shaft and cut from the butt end (grip end) to your finished club length. For the S flex 5 iron you would tip trim 2" install the shaft and butt trim to your finished length. You could chose tip & butt trimming box when you place your order and we will cut and prepare this shaft for you so that all you will need to do is install the shaft. You could call this order in at 1-800-848-8358.

This shaft can use on my Mizuno JPX EZ forged 2013?

Asked by: SLY13
No, the Graftech GT65 iron shaft will not fit the Mizuno JPX EZ forged irons. The JPX EZ forged irons use a .355" taper tip shaft. The GT65 is only available in a .370" parallel tip size which is to big to fit the Mizuno Irons. You might want to look at Xcaliber Iron shaft (AS0028) which is available in a .355" taper tip which is a very good inexpensive shaft that could match up well with the JPX EZ forged irons.

Do these shafts come in "SENIOR FLEX"....?

Asked by: Chuck
Yes the L/A is a combination Ladies and Senior (A) flex. You would follow the trip trimming instructions for the A flex (IR10) at this link, scroll down the page, to set these shafts up for the Senior flex.

Would this A shaft be a good replacement for my too firm Aldila 75-r's in my Titleist 710AP1's?

Asked by: jrob
The Titleist 710 AP1 irons use a .355" taper tip shaft and the GT 65 iron shafts are only available in a .370" parallel tip. They will not fit into the Titleist irons. The only .355" taper tip graphite iron shaft we stock in an A flex is the Aerotech Steelfiber 70CW. (AT0020I) Another option would be to have the Titleist irons reamed or rebored to accept a .370" parallel tip shaft. We do offer this service.

Replacing steel shafts (#4 iron through # PW) with Graftech Gt 65 shafts. I'm confused with the trimming instructions. The trim code for R flex is IR7. For instance, trim 1" off the butt for 5 iron and the rest from the tip???

Asked by: JDoyle
The 1" recommended shaft trim to achieve the "R" flex ( code IR7) will come off the shaft tip section first. You will butt cut to your desired finished playing length after the heads are installed and the epoxy has cured. All shaft trimming dimensions listed in our tables are shaft tip trimming unless otherwise noted.

I am in the process of boring out my .355 iron shafts to .370. I will be installing graphite shafts. My question relates to tip trimming. I see some sort of tip trimming code on certain irons that you offer and wonder what they represent. going to Sr. flx

Asked by: DaleS
Every shaft we carry has a shaft trimming code that references a chart with how much to trim from the tip on parallel tip shafts. For example, the code for a Dynamic Gold parallel iron shaft has a code of IR2. If you go to our trim chart for irons and look at IR2, you will see the amount to trim from the tip for each club number. After tip trimming, you would trim to final playing length from the butt end. If you go to the page of the shaft you are using on our web site and scroll to the information at the bottom, there is a link to "trimming instructions".
