Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted I was looking for a lady/senior shaft to use on a Callaway Big Bertha driver head I had found in the old club barrel. The GT 65 shaft is just what I wanted. I'm a 74 year old male and do not generate the club head speed I once did when I was a single digit player. This shaft, for the money might be what you want also. I'm going to install one in my 27 degree wood head also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing feel and control... I put this shaft (stiff flex and tipped 1") in a 10* Accusteel 260cc head nearly 10 years ago, stuck it in the side of my shop, and forgot it. Brought it out 1 month ago, took the plastic off the head, and put it in play. AMAZING!!! Hit it long, straight, shape it at will, all the wonderful things. Very good feel with a heavy head and Lamkin grip. This shaft/head combo has convinced me to put away my X2 Hot for at least a few more rounds. I highly recommend for driver/fairways.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plesantly surprised The stock "firm" shaft on my Big Bertha 454 seemed a bit stiff, and I wanted to try my reshafting skills with the dreaded "bore through" head. Installed the GT65 and loved it. Drives are straight, long and feels great. Great bargain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from replacement shaft for a senior golfer This shaft replaced a stiff shaft on a driver that was sold to a 81 year old gentleman with a 60 MPH swing speed who was experiencing poor distance. I set it up with (A) flex and his distance improved greatly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Equal to major brands Excellent combo with a Ping Rapture V2 4W, long and straight, the profile as described in the GW catalog. Bonus points since it matches the GT 55 in my driver. The stock TFC 939 was too light at 53G.

A senior golfer friend broke his shaft, I want to replace with an inexpensive alternate. His was a Swing Science HEX 360 65 graphite wood club. I'm looking at your Graftech GT 65 R/S as a good option ( plus grip, etc.) .

Asked by: PhilBStark
From the specifications I found on the HEX 360 65 shaft the Graftech GT65 R/S combo flex shaft matches up quite well. It should make a good replacement.

More simply, how much shaft should be removed to be at a stiff flex on the graftech gt65 driver shaft? And from which end?

Asked by: Big Red
To create an S flex with the Graftech GT65 wood shaft you need to cut 1" from the tip end (small end) and then you will cut to your finished club length from the grip end once the shaft is installed into the driver head.

I've been trying to figure out the trimming chart and I'm short on information. I understand to get to stiff flex you look at the W12 axis on the graph, but what are the numbers 1-9 on the other axis indicating?

Asked by: Big Red
1 through 9 are the club numbers. 1 is the driver and then you have 2 wood, 3 wood, 4 wood etc. down through the 9 wood.

I just ordered the Graftech GT 65 Code GW0048 MPF 1B2M for my Taylormade Burner Superfast. Will I need an tip adjuster? Thanks

Asked by: Bob C
Yes you will need to use the BB9008 adaptor for the .335" to size this .335" tip diameter shaft into the Burner Superfast hosel bore that is .350". http://www.golfworks.com/taylormade-r5-r7-burner-and-super-quad-adaptor/p/BB9008/

What is the tip trimming for this shaft?  I am planning to use it in a 4 hybrid for a lady.

Asked by: John
The GT 65 (GW0048) shaft is a wood shaft with .335" tip diameter. Are you sure the hybrid head requires a .335" shaft tip? Most require a .370" shaft. If it is .370" you could install a GT 65 (GW0050) and simply tip trim 1/2".

I cut and do my own shafts how much would you cut off to get a intermediate flex

Asked by: ltr
With graphite shafts the "rule of thumb" is that 1" is equal to a change of flex so 1/2" tip trimming would put you in between flexes.
