More simply, how much shaft should be removed to be at a stiff flex on the graftech gt65 driver shaft? And from which end?

Asked by: Big Red
To create an S flex with the Graftech GT65 wood shaft you need to cut 1" from the tip end (small end) and then you will cut to your finished club length from the grip end once the shaft is installed into the driver head.

I've been trying to figure out the trimming chart and I'm short on information. I understand to get to stiff flex you look at the W12 axis on the graph, but what are the numbers 1-9 on the other axis indicating?

Asked by: Big Red
1 through 9 are the club numbers. 1 is the driver and then you have 2 wood, 3 wood, 4 wood etc. down through the 9 wood.

I just ordered the Graftech GT 65 Code GW0048 MPF 1B2M for my Taylormade Burner Superfast. Will I need an tip adjuster? Thanks

Asked by: Bob C
Yes you will need to use the BB9008 adaptor for the .335" to size this .335" tip diameter shaft into the Burner Superfast hosel bore that is .350". http://www.golfworks.com/taylormade-r5-r7-burner-and-super-quad-adaptor/p/BB9008/

What is the tip trimming for this shaft?  I am planning to use it in a 4 hybrid for a lady.

Asked by: John
The GT 65 (GW0048) shaft is a wood shaft with .335" tip diameter. Are you sure the hybrid head requires a .335" shaft tip? Most require a .370" shaft. If it is .370" you could install a GT 65 (GW0050) and simply tip trim 1/2".

I cut and do my own shafts how much would you cut off to get a intermediate flex

Asked by: ltr
With graphite shafts the "rule of thumb" is that 1" is equal to a change of flex so 1/2" tip trimming would put you in between flexes.
