Rated 5 out of 5 by from The answer I have played several different shafts on the drivers I've owned though the years always hoping that the next one would "the answer". A year ago I started using the DS-6+ stiff shaft and I have not looked back! This shaft is awesome, you don't have to wonder what you ball flight is going to look like because it is so consistant. Oh and if you want that extra yardage we all seek from time to time it will be there without have to come out of your shoes to get it. FAIRWAYS BABY!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good control This is one of the easiest stiff shafts which I used. The distance is good on 3 wood Magregor. Confidence is good with the shaft. good directional behaviour, not afraid on a windy day and water all along the holes, to use on long holes. it seems to sort of catapault the ball a long way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still a great shaft First tried the YS-6+ at a Titleist driver fitting a couple of years ago (and even then it was an old shaft) but I still haven't found another shaft that performs as well, including a number of $300 premium shafts. Extremely smooth, unbelievable value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YS 6+ There are certainly newer and much more expensive shafts out there, but for my money it is still very difficult to beat the YS6+. The feel is flawless and as the "engine" of the driver it more than holds its own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shaft But Not Sure About The Trim I got the shaft and the order invoice said W2 trim code. I looked at the chart and it said 0" so that's what I did. Butt trimmed it only. I looked at the invoice again and below everything I ordered it said consult the catalog for trim information. I looked at the catalog and it gave me instructions for YS-6+ blind bore and bore through heads. Each said trim less than advertised, which I read as zero. Please tell me the correct trim for this shaft in a Cobra Fly Z+ configuration. I think I got it right but I'd like some reassurance/clarification.

I need this shaft (YS 6+) cut to 42" length and fitted with Taylormade M2 driver tip Also interested in the YS-6 FW+ R shaft cut to 42" length and fitted with Taylormade M2 driver tip

Asked by: Ravi Joshi
You will need to order the YS6+ shaft and the TM0023 Taylor Made shaft adaptor. We do not have a YS6+ fairway shaft you would use the same YS633WPL shaft cut for a FW wood. Graphite Design never made a YS6+ FW shaft for the aftermarket. You would also order the TM0023 for the FW as well.

I am looking to pair the STw 10.5 driver head with a Graphite Design shaft. I am currently playing a Pine G20 with the TFC 169D stiff shaft. I play a straight to a slight fade swing speed is @ 90 mph. Would a G Series or the YS series get me + distance.

Asked by: Tuna
The Graphite Design YS 6+ shaft is being discontinued by Graphite Design and we will not be getting any more in stock. The TFC 169D S flex is a 58 gram weight shaft with a mid trajectory. The GD YS 6+ is a heavier shaft and in theory the lighter shaft should help you create more swingspeed and more distance unless the shaft proves to be to light and flexible. The GD YS Nano Reloaded (GD0040) is supposed to be the updated version of the YS6+. They are also showing backordered but they are due in the week of September 25th.

No, we will not be getting any more YS6+ or YS7+ S flex shafts in stock. Graphite Design is discontinuing this shaft and as we sell out of them we will not be getting any more.

where it says to tip trim 0" does that mean trim down to 0", or, does it mean trim nothing off?

Asked by: gcpt
If the trim chart says 0" that means to tip trim nothing.

Your question seems odd ! "Iif I tip a stiff shaft will I get regular to stiff"!!!! NO NO you will get a stiffer shaft by tipping it.  !" will give you up to an X flex

Have a g25 Ping driver and would like to change the regular company shaft. My swing speed is in between 90-95 and would like some recommendations for a lighter regular shaft ( 50-60g ) if possible. any suggestions would be appreciated. My age is 71.

Asked by: albert99
The Graphite Design YS6+ in an R flex is a very good shaft and could possibly work well. In a 50 gram shaft the Kuro Kage Black HBP 2nd Gen 50 (MR0044) in the R flex could be a good choice. https://www.golfworks.ca/mitsubishi-rayon-kuro-kage-black-hbp-2nd-gen-wood-shafts/p/MR0044/
