Rated 5 out of 5 by from The answer I have played several different shafts on the drivers I've owned though the years always hoping that the next one would "the answer". A year ago I started using the DS-6+ stiff shaft and I have not looked back! This shaft is awesome, you don't have to wonder what you ball flight is going to look like because it is so consistant. Oh and if you want that extra yardage we all seek from time to time it will be there without have to come out of your shoes to get it. FAIRWAYS BABY!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shaft But Not Sure About The Trim I got the shaft and the order invoice said W2 trim code. I looked at the chart and it said 0" so that's what I did. Butt trimmed it only. I looked at the invoice again and below everything I ordered it said consult the catalog for trim information. I looked at the catalog and it gave me instructions for YS-6+ blind bore and bore through heads. Each said trim less than advertised, which I read as zero. Please tell me the correct trim for this shaft in a Cobra Fly Z+ configuration. I think I got it right but I'd like some reassurance/clarification.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good control This is one of the easiest stiff shafts which I used. The distance is good on 3 wood Magregor. Confidence is good with the shaft. good directional behaviour, not afraid on a windy day and water all along the holes, to use on long holes. it seems to sort of catapault the ball a long way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still a great shaft First tried the YS-6+ at a Titleist driver fitting a couple of years ago (and even then it was an old shaft) but I still haven't found another shaft that performs as well, including a number of $300 premium shafts. Extremely smooth, unbelievable value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YS 6+ There are certainly newer and much more expensive shafts out there, but for my money it is still very difficult to beat the YS6+. The feel is flawless and as the "engine" of the driver it more than holds its own.

What's the correct trim for this shaft in a cobra adaptor, S flex?

Asked by: RTF
What about cobra 3 wood? The same? Or 2 inches?

I've used a Kuro Kage Black 2nd gen in my Maltby adjustable drive as well as an Aldila Proto shaft. I like the torque of the Adila but not the trajectory. Would this GD give me the best of the Adila and the trajectory of the Kuro Kage?

Asked by: Flash Gordon
The Graphite Design YS shaft is a proven performer. It is a mid/high trajectory, whereas the Kuro Kage is a mid and the Aldila is a low/mid. So, the YS could give you a higher trajectory. Whether or not it would be too high is difficult to say. The torques are more similar between the Kuro Kage and and YS, which could make them have a similar feel.

to the gentleman that plays this shaft - standard "R'' tip trim - i.e. 1"? - finished overall playing length? - clubhead speed? - ballpark avg carry? - roll? - thanks - seeing if it may fit to my game

Asked by: Oldgolfer
I tip trimmed the R flex 1" per the instructions and my finished overall length measured with a 48" ruler is 45". Clubhead speed in the mid 80's ball speed 120 mph and carry distance in the 200 yard range. Average roll. It has been a very good shaft for me and just has a balance and feel that feels good to me.

Would not tipping a S flex the one inch give me a R/S flex

Asked by: fg17
1" tip trimming would be closer to a full flex change. 1/2" would be more like an in between flex.

I would like to use this shaft with a Titleist 904F 15 degree wood. Do you know if this is compatible?

Asked by: NJT
The YS633WPL Graphite Design shaft does have a .335 tip and should work in the Titleist 904F 15 degree fairway wood. If the 15 degree is a #3 wood, the shaft calls for a tip trim of 1.5" for installation into a #3 wood. After tip trimming, trim to final playing length from the butt end of the shaft.
