KBS Tour C-Taper Lite Shaft Specs

KBS C-Taper Lite .355" Steel Iron Shafts is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like adding a turbo I never thought I could improve on OEM, especially Titleist. But I popped the DGS-300 out and added KBS C-Taper Lites and watch my short irons increase in length but even better was the higher ball flight. I thought I had easier load and release with my long irons, so I am giving these shafts a table pounding BUY. (single digit in the off season)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shafts The S+ shaft is the best I've ever played. My mishits are better and I can easily flight the ball to any trajectory. I've played many different shafts and the S+ C Taper is the best.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stepless Shafts Bought several shafts from different manufacturers to try in an older set of Titleist irons. Came to conclusion that all stepless shafts "feel" stiffer than than the flex rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shafts! Love these shafts! Replaced TT Dynamic Gold XP R-300 shafts with KBS Tour C-Taper Lite in my Wilson Staff FG Tour M3 irons and distance, flight and feel all improved.

if I soft step the ct lite in stiff, how many grams is the end result and will the tip play slightly softer? Plus will the ball flight go up a litte?

Asked by: mick_1203
The shaft weight will not change because of soft stepping. The C-Taper Lite .355" taper tip shafts are a constant weight shaft which means all the shafts weight the same even though they are different lengths. The tip stiffness will stay the same but the overall shaft stiffness will be slightly more flexible. The ball may go slightly higher because the shaft is slightly stiffer. The butt end of the shaft is the stiffest end of the shaft. When you soft step and put the 5 iron shaft into the 6 iron and cut it to the finished length of a 6 irons you are cutting 1/2" more from the butt end then you would have cut for the 5 iron and since it is the stiffest end it will play slightly more flexible.

I recently ordered #6 TE Forged with C-Taper Lite (S) shaft. The club head feels great but the ball flight is higher than I wanted. What shaft would you recommend with similar weight characteristics that might produce a lower trajectory with this club hea

Asked by: TrT
With KBS when they make a lighter weight version of a shaft like the C-Taper and C-Taper Lite the lite version always plays more flexible then the standard version. In the KBS shafts you might look at the Tour FLT (FS0042) might be a good choice. Also the Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour120 (NP0020) could be another good choice.

I currently use DG s300 and now want a lighter shaft with mid trajectory. Looking at getting MP-25's. swing DNA optimizer says I need DG x100 soft stepped or project X 6.0 but I like the feel better in C-taper lite. should I get S or X flex? 6i SS 85-90

Asked by: Kab1963
The C-taper Lite S flex is more flexible in the butt section of the shaft then the Dynamic Gold S300 S flex. Even the X flex in the C-taper Lite is a shade more flexible at the butt then the DG S300 S. The C-taper Lite S is similar in stiffness to the DG in the lower section of the shaft where the C-taper Lite X flex is stiffer in the lower section of the shaft compared to the DG. We reference an S flex for an 8 iron from 150 yards and an X flex for a 9 iron or wedge from 150 yards. The C-taper Lite shafts do tend to feel a little more flexible then normal.

Im in need of a KBS tour C-Taper lite steel Regular flex 105 for 1iron (Taylor Made UDI Driving Iron. Thank you

Asked by: Tamuty
KBS does not offer a 1 iron shaft in the C-Taper lite 105 R flex. They may have made one for Taylor Made but they do not make it available for the aftermarket. You would have to use the 2 iron shaft which is the 41" raw length shaft.

the lengths on the x shafts seem to be longer than the titleist standard lengths. for example the titleist standard 7 iron is listed at 37" so which shaft would I order since your listing shows the 7 iron would be 38.5"

Asked by: wwhite
38.5" is the correct raw length shaft for the 7 iron shaft. The shaft raw lengths always start longer to accomade longer finished length clubs. Titleist would have started with the 38.5" shaft for the 7 iron and butt cut it to the finished length of 37".

I'm currently playing the C-Taper Lite 'R-flex' shafts in my irons and would like to switch out the DG Wedge shafts in my 50 and 56 degree Mizunos. Should I go 'R' or 'S' flex (concerned about swing weight) and what uncut length would you recommend?

Asked by: 1PLUS1
Thanks so much for the info and quick reply Jim. I'm going to take my PW shaft, install it in the 52 degree SW, and proceed from there to see what results I get.

In your pure process,do you see much of a spine in the KBS C-taper or the C-taper lite golf shafts that would justify the pure process?

Asked by: FowlRiverGolfer
The "spine" and how much you see will vary with all shafts. Since there are no perfectly round perfectly straight shafts, which is what the Puring process identifies, I would always recommend the Puring process.
