KBS Tour 90 Taper Tip Steel Iron Shaft Specifications

KBS Tour 90 Taper Tip Steel Iron Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from unbelieveable performance had these shafts installed on my new taylormade tour preferred irons in regular and I cant believe how much distance I have gained. I am 65 and have been playing over 50+ years and was considering graphite until I tried these. I have added 10-15 yards and they are practically point and shoot for me. I also had winngrip lite midsize and the feel and feedback is the best I have had since hitting my forged macgregors many years ago. I can also control the height of my shots with these shafts by flattening my down swing a bit. this is an added feature and you better players will appreciate this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KBS delivers These shafts do everything claimed for them. Replaced DGSL and achieved lower total weights and swingweights reduced by a point in long irons while increasing length. Best of all smooth controlled feel. They inspire confidence particularly in long irons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great performing shaft I was fitted recently for a set of Mizuno JPX 850 cast irons. After trying 3 different recommended shafts, the shaft that gave me optimum performance was the KBS Tour shaft. The only problem was that it was too heavy for me at 110 grams. So I reshafted my 2 wedges and 9 iron with the KBS Tour 90 shaft which has the same characteristics as the Tour shaft but 20 grams lighter. I'm glad I did, easier to swing for a 63 year old and my shot dispersion is a lot tighter. I recommend this shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Question I am looking to replace the stock shafts on my Nike vapor speed irons. I use reg flex. Which shaft would y'all recommend. I have a high to mid ball flight. My swing speed with my driver is 93 mph. I like to cut or fade the ball as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KBS C Taper 90 lite shafts These shafts are a great addition to the KBS products. Lighter than the standard C Taper, they perform as well, and allow for an increase in swing speed. Hitting your target is easy with these shafts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light but effective This shaft is light enough for "slower swingers" yet feels firm and gives good results.

Hi. Which KBS shaft would I use for the Callaway XR sand wedge? I previously had the KBS Tour 90 R and need a replacement. Thanks.

Asked by: Stacy
If you have the KBS Tour 90 R flex in the Callaway XR sand wedge you would need the FS0024 KBS Tour 90 .370" tip size shaft in the R flex. https://www.golfworks.com/kbs-tour-90-steel-iron-shafts/p/FS0024/

Which KBS TOUR 90 shaft is for the pitching wedge, the #9 or #W? Also, how much longer is standard shipping compared to express?

Asked by: dling
You use the W (wedge) shaft for a PW.

What is the cost for the 95gram lite shaft installed in my new psi irons the c taper the is a little stout forms and is it cheaper if I let you keep the ctapers

Asked by: jim
Reshafting is $19.95 per club plus the catalog price of the shaft. The price is the same whether we keep the shafts or send them back to you. Unless you request to have them back we will keep them. The PSi irons actually use a .370" parallel tip shaft. The PSi Tour irons use a .355" taper tip shaft. https://www.golfworks.com/kbs-tour-90-steel-iron-shafts/p/FS0024/

I have KBS taylormade 90  fst shafts How can I check if there stiff or regular  I don't  know I would like to match the shaft they were given to me

Asked by: Boog
On the KBS Tour 90 shaft bands we have the flex is marked in the lower right hand corner. If you do not have the shaft bands or by chance they are not marked, I think some of their earlier bands were not marked, can you give me a measurement from the back of the heel to the first step on the shaft of one of your irons. If I have this measurement there is a good chance I can figure out which flex you have. The easiest way to take this measurement is to set the iron in the playing position sitting on the center of the sole and use a ruler right behind and against the shaft and measure from the ground up to the first step. If you can tell me which make and model or irons you have that will also help.

what is the difference between iron parallels and iron tapers ?

Asked by: Fred
Generally with a set of parallel tip shafts they will all start at the same raw length. In the case of the KBS Tour 90 they start at 41.25". As you tip and butt cut each shaft for each club number the shafts will get lighter from the longest club to the shortest club. With the taper tip version the shafts start at different lengths because there is a shaft for each club. Even though these shafts start at different lengths they still all weight the same. We call that a constant weight shaft. The taper tip shaft will be a little heavier then the parallel tip shaft and generally the taper tip shaft will be slightly more flexible then the parallel tip shaft in the tip section. In a true blind test it would be hard for a player to pick out the difference between a taper and parallel tip shaft.

I ordered one shaft from Golfsmith to replace the XP115 in my MP H5 3 iron: the KBS Tour 90 in stiff and 39 inches.  Golfsmith didn't list which iron this was for.  The clubheads are .355 tapered.  I think I ordered the 5 iron shaft length?

Asked by: Stevo74
Thank you.  I changed the order.  I note even the golfworks.com does not list these shafts by length, only by iron number.  Difficult to get the correct shaft, but I believe I've got it now! Thanks again.

are all the KBS shafts the same length until cut

Asked by: Tom
The FS0023 KBS Tour 90 Taper tip shafts are a different length for each iron. The lengths are listed for each iron. The .370" parallel tip KBS Tour 90 (FS0024) iron shafts will all start at the same length and then are cut for installation. Many of the KBS shafts are available in both .355" taper tip and .370" parallel tip. With taper tips there is always a different length shaft for each iron and with their parallel tips they are cut for each club. http://www.golfworks.com/kbs-tour-90-steel-iron-shafts/p/FS0024/
