KBS Tour Taper Tip Steel Iron Shafts is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ping like a surgeon I visited Tampa Golf in search on new clubs and have since spent countless hours hitting club after club. After picking the Ping i10 irons, shafts became the next item to pick. With my swing speed being 105+, the Ping offerings fell short of my needs. "Snap" mocked up a 6 iron with the KBS Tour X-Flex shaft and it was a match made in heaven. With this shaft, not only can you hear and FEEL impact, the shot consistency was amazing. The problem with most X-Flex shafts is the extreme rigid feel they have at impact, but not the KBS. I actually had to have him check to make sure it was not a mislabeled shaft as it felt so smooth and fluid from start to finish in my swing. Needless to say, performance on these went unmatched with my fitting experience! Great work KBS!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KBS TOUR SHAFT I put KBS tour stiff .355 tapered shafts in Titleist AP2's and absolutly love them! I play to a 3 handicap from a course here with a Donald Ross designed greens that plays up to 7,000 yards. I play in individual stroke play tournaments against some of the best players in the area. The shot dispersion is very tight with these shafts, there seems to be a type of correction in the shaft that keeps the ball flight on its INTENTIONAL path if it strays on slight mis-hits or slight adjustments in swing path or club alignment at impact. The distance seems to hold much better on mis-hits to, there is something very new and unique about this shaft design. The shafts seem to do what you want them to do, usualy a good shot produced a good result, but with these shafts a good shot can turn into an excellent shot. The ball comes of the shaft very penetrating and stays up with no ballooning and has good spin on landing. The best way to put it is this shaft feels like your playing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Shaft for a Smooth Swing This was a replacement for a damaged shaft, and they have performed so well that I used the same shaft in the replacement process...I do experiment a great deal, but this shaft is hard to beat for feel and consistent performance...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and high Made a switch to the Tour X from the C Taper X in my 712 mb's. Great feel with this shaft, even in wedges. Much higher ball flight in comparison to C Tapers. Getting the ball in the air is almost too easy, even with long irons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feel Great! I have played DY Gold for 30 years. My new KBS shafts feel great. I bought the 125g tour s+. They apex aboutthree foot higher with my long irons and the muffled feeling vibration feels really nice off my blades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft Very consistent. Great service from golfworks on delivering on time. If you have a ss of 85 - 90mph works great if you soft step once.

I play off 8 handicap and have chance to purchase some irons that have Kbps tour by fast on them. Are they stiff how can you tell and what weight are they? I play off 7 handicap and thinking of getting them if you can answer above

Asked by: Mark
The flex should be shown on the shaft band such as R, S or X etc. With the KBS Tour shafts the R flex weights 110 grams, S flex 120 grams and X flex 130 grams. If the flexes are not marked on the shafts you would have to take them to someone who can test the shafts for flex on frequency machine.

Hello I am looking to replace my stock Vokey wedge flex shafts with kbs tour 130x shafts (9/pw shaft). I plan to keep the length the same as stock. Would I need to adjust the swing weight of the new kbs shaft or can it simply be fitted as is?

Asked by: Leehech
Assuming you are reshafting Dynamic Gold shafts with KBS Tour 130 X flex shafts you may need to add a couple of swingweight points. The KBS Tour shafts have a higher balance point then the Dynamic Gold shafts and I have found I generally have had to add about 4 grams with the KBS shafts.

MPF for KBS Tour say HIGH trajectory launch. If currently mid high with DG R300 or DG S200 will these be higher in KBS stiff. Using convention rated iron head Mizuno MP60 and Nike ProCombo 2011.

Asked by: KentB
KBS lists the shaft as a mid trajectory shaft and the Dynamic Gold is listed as a low trajectory shaft. Personally when I have hit them both my trajectory has always been very similar with both of these shafts in the same flex. KBS's lowest trajectory shaft is the C-Taper (FS0027 or FS0026). You might just need to have the lofts of your irons adjusted a little stronger. Loft is always the first factor that effects trajectory.

My current Srixon 945's have DG S300 (130g). I have a pulled set of KBS Tour S (120g) that I want to install. The KBS are 1/4 inch shorter across the board except the PW. Assuming no additional weights in the tip, what's the effect on swingweight.

Asked by: George
You will loose 2 swingweights because of the 1/4" shorter length and apporximately 2 more swingweights because of the higher balance point in the KBS Tour shafts. So a total of approximately 4 swingweights.

Can you soft step the KBS tour steel and how? thanks Lenny

Asked by: Lenny
Yes the KBS Tour (FS0018) can be soft stepped. Soft stepping is done by putting a 2 iron shaft into the 3 iron clubhead and cutting it to the 3 iron finished length. This will make the shaft play approximately a quarter of a flex more flexible. You could also put the 2 iron shaft into a 4 iron head and make the shaft play approximately a half a flex more flexible. It just depends on how much more flexible you want the shafts to play.

What shaft compares with the ping zz65> these are in S55s?

Asked by: DSR
Ping lists the ZZ65 at 108 grams high bend point stiff tip. It was a stiff flex shaft. In the KBS shafts the Tour 105 (FS0041) would match the best in shaft weight but is a mid/high trajectory shaft compared to the low trajectory design of the ZZ65. In the KBS Tour the S flex would match the flex but it is a heavier weight shaft and a mid trajectory. The True Temper Dynamic Gold SL S300 (TT2016) would be the closest replacement in weight and trajectory.

Would like to order these shafts 4-PW for Titleist AP2 710s precut to +1/2 inch. Is the make and model of my irons enough information for my order details for you to cut these to my desired length?

Asked by: ap2710
Yes we can do this for you and knowing the make and model is the information we need.

If theKBS Shaft is taper tipped, does that mean there is no requirement to trim the tips? It is my understanding that I would install the coorespondign shaft into the correct head and trim to length. I am replacing PXi 6.0 with KBS Tour R+ from the PW-5

Asked by: Cal
That is right. You never tip trim a taper tip shaft. You install the corresponding shafts and butt cut to your finished length.
