Maltby Bench Top Club Length Ruler is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and accurate. Have been using this for six months or so now. In the 30 or so clubs I've built, ranging from drivers to wedges (and a Maltby chipper) they nearly always end up at the desired length. Worst-case was 1/16th - 1/8th off due to a stubborn grip or two. Most times, subtracting 1/8th inch for the cap of the grip does the job, but not always. Also, it is so easy to adjust the lie-angle, this is almost a 'work of art'. Nice engineering, to say the least. I have mounted this to a piece of wood and am able to move it around (tight on space) as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have This is one tool that I use daily. Have had several other types of Club measuring devices this is the easiest to use. The adjustable lie setting is easy to use and having the club lying flat while taking measurements is a huge plus. The tool is well made, you will be quite happy if you do decide to purchase. Its one of those tools, how did I do without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what the doctor ordered! I have just about every golf ruler there is from a simple 48" golf ruler to the exact measure tool and they're all fine for what they do, but I wanted a tool that would accurately measure every club, drivers to putters. This one does! Simple to use and easy to adjust the lie angle plate. If you're getting one club ruler, this is it!

Is there a user manual for the Bench Top Club Length Ruler on how to accurately measure club lengths?

Asked by: brdfixr
No we have not done an instruction guide for the Bench Top Ruler. In our 2016 Catalog on page 145 at the bottom of the page there are a couple of pictures showing how the club is place in the ruler and how the measurement is taken. If you know the lie angle of the club you are measuring you can set the sole rest to that angle. If not make sure the center of the sole of the club is touching the center of the sole rest plate. Align the shaft parallel to the yellow ruler and measure the club length. You can access the 2016 catalog at this link to see the pictures.

How does this differ from the professional model that sells for 194.99?

Asked by: skippy2time
The main difference is the more expensive MA1000 has a spring loaded drop down rearward section that allows gripped golf clubs to be measured accurately no matter the size or shape of the grip. It also is designed to acccurately measure double bend shafted putters accurately because the the ruler platform is set higher above the ground.
