Maltby KE4 ST-2 Driver Clubhead Specifications

Maltby KE4 ST-2 Driver is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome clubhead and the first review???? I got a chance to hit the St-2 driver last night. put the pack together with the KK Silver shaft. Tipped the stiff shaft 1" and assembled at 44 1/2." Used the 14 gram weight in the head to get the swingweight up. Had the pros at Golfworks hand pick the head. 9* of loft and 1* open face angle (when I miss it's a hook so the FA should help). Went to a range that I go to often that you actually hit into water. There is a plastic pipe that goes across at 280 yards. I was consistently flying the ball over that piece of pipe (all carry). At the end I took out a beat up Chrome + ball I had in the bag. Crushed it at least 15 yards over that pipe. Only wish I would've tried this head sooner! I cannot believe I am the first reviewer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NEVER JUDGE BY PRICE I went to a golf equipment dealers gathering to see what was new. There was a fund-raising booth and I spotted a driver that looked interesting. It was a Maltby CT-250. I bought it, not having heard of this brand. I took it to my local Golfsmith who told me it was quite a find. One of the salesman used that very model and had nothing but positive feedback. I took it out on my next session and it out-drove my big dollar driver. I'm upgrading to a new Aldila NV green shaft and oversized grip and looking forward to out driving my friends. Lesson here? Don't go by price, buy the club that does the job for you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from sounds cheap! had golfworks build up a diamana s pack. first off club balance feels great and looks great. but you buy a driver for distance no? average distance at best. i was struggling to carry 270 and with my callaway im around the 285 mark. also imma pga member thats hit about everything and this driver sounds awful. whoever thinks this driver is muted was fibbin a bit. i wanted to like this driver because im a fan of component clubs, this was a miss for me. all these positive reviews moved me to a purchase. however this driver was accurate! so dang how do you stay mad at a club that doesn't misbehave? this club is LOUD, accurate distance killing machine. buy with caution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've ever owned I got the KE4 ST-2a a few months ago as a driver Pak. The Kuro Kage 60 gram stiff shaft and grip was a perfect match for me. Set up square, I hit it straight. Set up 1 degree closed, I hit a draw with the same swing, just like its supposed to do. The adjustable head does what it's supposed to do. It does for me, anyway. Oh, by the way, spend the extra $15 and get the shaft PURED. The improvement in consistency is noticeable. Through no fault of the club, I wish I could get a higher launch angle for more carry. I fly it now 260-270. Again, best I've ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maltby KE4 ST-2 Driver I bought this at Christmas and finally had a chance to hit it. Paired with a True Temper Sensicore shaft, 45" in length and a D2 weight it is nice and light. The ball springs off the club face giving me more distance than my Ping..about 10 yds when everything goes well. Being a bogey golfer who is 68 yrs old my first impressions are very favorable. As the season progresses and my swing improves I'm sure this driver will be the right choice for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Good, Feels Good I've only had it at the range, but it looks real good at address and the ball feels real good off the face. I have nice control with it, and put a slight draw or fade when I want. The sound is a little "tinny", but that doesn't bother me a bit. I put this head on a UST Mamiya 65 Gold shaft, stiff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Head I bought this head in July 2014 and put it on a Mamiya ProForce V5 shaft. If I recall correctly, I got it as a club pak and it shipped to my door, assembled, for right around $150. I've loved this club since I got it. After two years, it's developed a crack in the top of the club. Going to have to replace it with another ST-2.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long, Low and easy to control I bought this driver club head less than a month ago and put the club together with a xcalibur 6+ shaft stiff flex and a golf pride texture grip. I was concerned about the sound at the range although on the course it calmed down and am hitting this really good.

can this head be built into 43.5" driver at a swing weight between D2,D4

Asked by: will
It would depend somewhat on what shaft and shaft weight is being used. With a graphite shaft we would not be able to get it in the D2 - D4 range by just changing the weight in the clubhead. We would also need to add a tip weight in the tip end of the shaft.

The design of the sole is clearly different between the 2 lofts. What differences are there in the specs between these heads, especially with the CG? Also with the adjustable heads.

Asked by: Michael CCLGolf
The ST-2 on both the 9 & 10.5 degree models has the weight to the rear to create CG that is lower and further back from the face for a higher launch angle. The ST-2A on the 9.5 degree has the weight closer to the face to create a lower launch angle and the 10.5 is further back to create a higher launch.

what shaft ?

Asked by: des
Really you could use any shaft you might like. We do offer different Club Paks for this driver that you can see at this link. https://www.golfworks.com/search.asp?ss=ma0244 The shafts in these Paks have different weights and playing characteristics. If you can give me some specifics about what you need the shaft to do I can help narrow down the choices for you and make some recommendations. You could use our MPF Shaft Fitting questions to help narrow down your choice. Answer the 4 questions at this link and then click on Get Your SPF and it will bring up the shafts that fit your 4 digit code. https://www.golfworks.com/mpf-shaft-fitting-worksheet/a/496/

What shaft and what driver head would you recommend ,for a man 69yrs old, thats hitting his drives only 150 yds. ?

Asked by: ken
I would recommend the L Tech MA0240 or the Club Pak for this driver which is PMA0240 with the L Tech shaft in the L flex or possibly the A flex. The 15 degree loft would probably be better then the 13 degree as well.

What shaft and driver would you recommend for a 5ft 9inch man that is 69yrs old, that only hits his drives 150yrds?

Asked by: ken
I would suggest the STw (MA0266) in 12 degrees loft and a senior (A flex) shaft. You might consider the PMA0266 Club Pak for this driver. https://www.golfworks.com/maltby-stw-driver-pak/p/PMA0266/ The other driver I would look at would be the LTech (MA0240) which we offer in both 13 and 15 degrees loft in a 460cc clubhead size. The PMA0240 Club Pak could be a good choice either in the A flex or even possibly the L flex. https://www.golfworks.com/maltby-ltech-driver-pak/p/PMA0240/

Is the finish matte or gloss? The address thumbnail and all other pictures show gloss, but the full size address picture shows matte.

Asked by: Jimmy
The ST-2 driver has a gloss black finish.
