Maltby KE4 Tour HDI Driving Iron Views

The Maltby KE4 Tour HDI hybrid design is probably closer to what a real hybrid should be vs. hybrid designs that are more influenced by metal wood shapes. With a low and deep center of gravity, a progressive wide sole design, adjustable head weighting and a very thin high strength forged MS300 face material. The HDI hybrid design is perfect for dialing in the exact distances and trajectories required by any type of player. Whether your looking for maximum distance or simply trying to replace those hard to hit long irons, you owe it to yourself to try one of these amazingly easy to hit KE4 Tour HDI hybrids. The KE4 Tour HDI hybrid also features a DBM (Diamonized Black Metal) finish that is chemically implanted and more wear, corrosion and scratch resistant than typical PVD finishes.

    KE4 Tour HDI Features

  • Hollow construction design with AST (Advanced Shell Technology) to insure mass and dimensional stability.
  • A very thin 1.85mm forged MS300 high strength steel face produces a high COR for increased ball speeds.
  • Design profile morphs more from a tradition iron design shape with added playability features above and beyond those only found in modern hybrid design shapes.
  • High MOI (moment of inertia) and progressive sole widths for added forgiveness.
  • Weight adjustable using any of our KE4 weight screws for endless shaft length and weight options.
  • Black DBM finish for the highest possible finish durability.
  • Available in 1H (17), 2H(19) and 3H(21).
  • Product Code - MA0231
  • Note: The HDI Hybrids Cannot be Adjusted for Loft and Lie

Maltby KE4 Tour HDI Hybrids is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very nice hybrid/driving iron I built a 21deg version with a FST Pro 115 regular shaft and it's going to replace my 21deg 7wood. The optics of the head are very nice and it looks good at address. The ball flight is mid range about 1/3 lower than my 7w and very boring. My friend who was with me at the range tried to hide it in his bag but it's going in mine. Now I have build a 3 and 4 for him. I have never been a big hybrid fan in the past but this one may convert me. -mike

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great head I bought the 19 degree version and mated it with AXE Xcaliber Tour X iron shaft. Initially built this to drive with on tight par 4s, but have found I hit it equally well from the fairway. I've been pulling the 3w out of the bag and added a wedge because of the performance of this club. My instructor, who qualified for this years PGA, hit it and said "Wow that's nice! And you put this together?" He did hit it a smidge further than I can : ). I did go with a 10 gram weight, replacing the 6 it comes with. For me, this gave the club the feel I was looking for. Only issue is that this comes with the 3 prong weight and the new weights are all triangle drive. No a biggie but worth mentioning if you're going to play with the weights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new unicorn Built up this club with an axe tour hybrid shaft with a black widow tour silk 2 midsize grip. I set my playing length to 41 inches with a swingweight of d6 (my preferred swingweight. I took it out to the range tonight and was hitting the ball a mile (240 to 260 yards). This club is going in my bag tomorrow and I cannot see it leaving anytime soon

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent option to replace fairway woods Purchased the 3H PAK with the Maltby Hybrid shaft. Very turf friendly and straighter shots than fairway woods for me. Off Center hits are not harsh and the ball still goes the distance. Like the H3 so well that I purchased the 1H PAK. Replacing my fairways with the HDI Hybrids.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value Very surprised by performance, fast ball speeds, easy launch. Paired with KuroKage Black hybrid shaft and its a kick in for the gap between long iron and fairway wood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice club I bought this as an alternative to a 16 deg hybrid. I pretty pleased with the performance feel both off the fairway and tee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long and straight Great purchase. Very well balanced iron and hits long and straight. So easy to control that I prefer it to fairway woods.

Could the 2h be bent to 17* and a lie of 58*? I need that to fit my set and make it a 2 iron since my 3 iron is 20* and lie of 59*.

Asked by: smmaddalena
No the original HDI Hybrid iron (MA0231) is not adjustable for loft and lie. Do to the black coating if we try to adjust them they will break.

What shaft lengths are recommended on these heads?   More like an iron or more like a hybrid/wood?

Asked by: DST
Lengths are based on head weights, ans to some degree shaft weights. Based on the head weights and assuming an 80 gram shaft and a 50 gram grip, recommended lengths would be 40.75 for the 1, 40.25 for the 2, 39.75 for the 3, 39.25 for the 4, 38.75 for the 5. At these lengths with these component weights, swing weights would be in the D1-D2 range. Length recommendations could vary depending on the shaft weight. Also, the length that is correct for you should be based on your abilities, stature, strength, etc.
