Maltby MPF Distance Graphite Wood Shafts is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft for the price I bought these shafts about a month ago and installed them on my "metals." After the first round to get familiar with their characteristics, I am enjoying playing with the new shafts. They do give me more distance, straighter shots and feel light and comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Possible Value and Performance I continue to be impressed with the TheGolfWorks shafts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very stable shaft Longer that I thought it would be. I'm a mid high driver of the ball so I wanted a lil more height off the tee. I tipped 1/2" and made a 44" driver, I like it a lot. I'll see this weekend at a course I hit driver a lot at and see how it measures up against the graftech 50 stiff shaft.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Stick I bought this shaft to put into a TaylorMade Burner 2 Superfast 9.5 degree driver. I did this for a pal and he likes the club now that it has a stiff shaft.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fine Shaft Installed it into a Nike VR-S str8 fit. Now I am longer and straighter than my buddies. A good replacement for the OEM shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for seniors! Put this in my Dad's Callaway, perfect for him and looks great for his Christmas gift. Very good shaft for this purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MPF S- Flex Driver Shaft Increased club head speed so had to increase flex none better than MPF for price and performance

i have a older through bore callaway big bertha driver will this shaft be ok for it,

Asked by: rudy
Yes the MPF Distance can be installed into the Callaway bore through driver. It will make the shaft play a little stiffer then if it were installed into a non bore through driver.

Can a shaft diameter .370 be fitted in a driver head

Asked by: Gary
No a .370" tip shaft will not fit the modern drivers. If your driver uses a shaft adaptor there are no adaptors available that will allow you to install a .370" tip size shaft.

What is meant by "100% frequency tested in both 0° and 90° planes" on description of this shaft?

Asked by: Don
The shaft manufacture does a frequency oscillation test on these shafts to identify a consistent oscillation plane. They mark this plane with a white line on the butt end of the shaft. They then rotate the shaft 90 degrees and mark the shaft with a red line at the butt end of the shaft. When you assemble you put the Red line on the top of the shaft and it puts the white line in a position that will be facing the target which is the stable oscillation plane. It is done to make the shaft play more consistent.

Will this club work in Taylormade SLDR 460?

Asked by: Wtkold
The SLDR 460 driver used a .350" tip diameter shaft. You can install the MPF Distance but you will need to use a new shaft adapter (TM0023) that fits the .335" tip size shaft. http://www.golfworks.com/taylormade-m1-m2-r-15-sldr-shaft-adaptor/p/TM0023/

Does Maltby carry a driver/shaft combination that would perform similar to a Callaway 10.5 deg fusion driver with a 44.5 inch UST recoil ES 450 56 gram shaft?

Asked by: Dennis
The MPF Distance wood shaft could be a good choice to match up to the spec's of the Recoil ES 450 shaft that is being made for Callaway. For drivers clubhead either the KE4 ST-2 (MA0244) or STw (MA0266) in 10.5 degrees loft. With the Callaway head being a combination of titanium and composite material it will have a little muted sound. The STw would be closer to this sound and feel then the KE4 ST-2 driver, which will have a little louder sound.

Can you compare the quality and performance characteristics of the equivalent driver and iron stiff flex-paderson imrt Kevlar, Mitsubishi kuro kage HDP and Maltby graphite distance. Driver ss 100mph. Mated to dBm I and PI cast vs forged Maltby driver.

Asked by: Dennis
Depending on which IMRT driver shaft you are looking at they have different playing characteristics. The 860 TP Tour S flex is a low trajectory shaft. The 972 S flex (PK0006) is a mid trajectory shaft and the 860 (PK0001) is also a mid trajectory shaft that is a little heavier and has a little more torque then the 972. The Mitsubishi Black HBP 2nd Gen (MR0044) is a mid trajectory shaft with a higher balance point and weight and torque spec's closer to the 972 (PK0006). The Maltby MPF Distance (MA0248) S flex shaft is a lighter weight shaft and a mid trajectory shaft. Quality wise these are all very good. I have not had much chance to work with the Paderson shafts as they are newer but both the Kuro Kage HBP and MPF Distance shafts have been very good for us. We do not offer the MPF Distance shaft in an iron shaft these days and because we offer Club Paks with the Kuro Kage iron shaft we have had very good feedback from this shaft.

Cobra 9 degree deep face driver. Grandson (6'4" 25 years old) used it. Original shaft broke at hozel. I drilled out hozel to about 1 1/4 ". Seems like diameter of hozel is .354 not sure. What shaft should a young tiger learning golf use?

Asked by: Carl
We do still offer the Aldila NV shaft with a .350" tip diameter. The shaft design could work well for him. We have both the 65 and 75 gram weight version. http://www.golfworks.com/aldila-nv-graphite-wood-shaft/p/1205W/

I just bought a shaft for a 7 iron and one for a 3 hybrid. Can't find the tip trimming instructions for them. Where do I get the instructions?

Asked by: WGS
Check on the corresponding item page of the shaft. The trim codes are published about half way down the page with the rest of the specs. In that same area there is a link to the trimming instructions. You can also click this link below for the trimming chart. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/shaft_trim_inst.pdf
