Are these fairway shafts equivalent to the AXE Xcaliber fairway shafts? Are the bend profiles available for the MPF fairway shafts?

Asked by: Don
Don, It is the same weight and profile as the XCaliber fairway shaft. I believe it is the exact same shaft made by XCaliber but with the Maltby decal. I just used one to replace a customer's broken XCaliber fairway shaft. A great shaft and value!

what are you recomend for a driver senior shaft

Asked by: Zolie
I would look at our MPF Distance (MA0248) in the A flex (senior flex). Another option would be the Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue 45 A flex (TT0106) which is a 45 gram weight shaft and can work well for slower swingspeeds. https://www.golfworks.com/maltby-mpf-distance-graphite-wood-shafts/p/MA0248/ https://www.golfworks.com/grafalloy-prolaunch-blue-45-65-graphite-wood-shafts/p/TT0106/

I play an Aldila NVS .350 tip in stiff flex in my driver.  Would this shaft be a good complement to that in a 3 wood?  Or, are these shafts low launching?  Is there a suggested swing speed per flex?  Thank you.

Asked by: Jason
The MPF Fairway shaft could be a good match for the NVS in playing characteristics with similar trajectories. You might also consider the NVS .335" tip (AL202202) shaft for the 3 wood.

What is the difference between the R and S flexes with this shaft?  The weight and torque appear to be the same.  I am thinking about getting either a pak with the UFW 3 wood or 5 wood, not sure yet.  Just need some help with launch, 100 mph driver SS.

Asked by: Jason
The S flex is a full flex stiffer then the R flex. In graphite shafts stiffness can be controlled by the outside diameter measurements of the shafts. The S flex in this shaft stays a little bigger in the upper and middle section of the shaft compared to the R flex and this will make the shaft play stiffer. With a 100 mph driver swingspeed the S flex in this fairway wood shaft should be the best choice for you.

I am looking for a 3 wood fairway shaft weighing about 80 grams( lighter does not work) in a R flex that will launch high with medium spin yet enough tip torque stiffness to maintain control

Asked by: Fsqd13
We really do not have any 80 gram S flexes either and especially one that would be a high launch. It is just not a shaft combinations that would sell well. You might look at a shaft like the Graphite Design YS7+ S flex (YS733WPL). It is a good shaft designed for a mid trajectory.

What trimming is required for this shaft for installation in a 9 and 11 wood?

Asked by: forefun
You would follow trim code W19 at this link. Scroll down to the last page. 2" is the maximum recommended tip trimming for this shaft. W19 says 2" tip trim for the 9 wood and you would also trim 2" for the 11 wood. https://www.golfworks.ca/images/art/shaft_trim_inst.pdf

I need a 3 wood Shaft senior flex with a low kick point! Lite in grams for rocketballz 3 wood

Asked by: Pottsy
One of the lightest weight shafts would be the Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue 45 (TT0106) A flex (Senior Flex). http://www.golfworks.com/grafalloy-prolaunch-blue-45-65-graphite-wood-shafts/p/TT0106/ Our MPF Distance (MA0248) A flex would be another good choice. http://www.golfworks.com/maltby-mpf-distance-graphite-wood-shafts/p/MA0248/

I am wanting to change shafts in my taylormade burner superfast 3 wood and my taylormade rescue mid 19* what tip sizes do I need in the Maltby graphite?

Asked by: Mike
The Taylor Made Burner Superfast 3 wood used a .350" tip diameter shaft. To install the MPF Fairway shaft you will need to use BB9008 adaptor to size the .335" tip MPF shaft into the .350" Burner hosel bore. The Taylor Made Rescue Mid 19* used a .370" tip diameter shaft so the MPF Hybrid (MA0250) shaft will work fine.
