Maltby Tricept F2 Forged Iron Views New for 2010, the Maltby Tricept F2 Forged Irons replace the popular Tricept F1 Forged Irons. The Tricept F2 Forged iron club head is like no other muscle back iron on the market. The F2 is true hosel, body and sole form forged from 8620 carbon steel, utilizing the precise elements of investment casting for the tight tolerance control and forging to better align grain structure. The face of the Tricept F2 Forged iron is true forged from a 1025 carbon steel billet that is CNC milled to precise specifications. This combination of material and manufacturing produces an iron with incredible feel and precise specifications. Golfers that like that blade look will love the Tricept F2 iron at address. The unique shape of the muscle design places the mass of the head in the optimal position for each club number in the set. The mass is positioned for more stability in the mid and long irons, usually the least forgiving irons in any set. This positioning makes the Tricept F2 Forged long irons more stable and forgiving than traditional forged blade style irons. The mass is neutralized in the medium short to short irons to produce a more penetrating ball flight for optimum feel and distance control. Based on feedback from better golfers, the actual vertical center of gravity was positioned slightly higher than typical Maltby designs to provide a medium trajectory profile for better distance control. Unlike 99% of blade designs ever developed, the horizontal center of gravity is located in the exact center of the club face to improve the ball velocity, spin and feel on properly struck golf shots. The Maltby Tricept F2 Forged muscles back shows how we can take a great blade profile and redistribute the weight to make a blade design more playable. More than just another pretty blade, the Maltby Tricept F2 Forged irons offer Game Improvement playability in a unique muscle back design.

  • Bi-material construction in a blade profile provides optimum weight distribution
  • Forged 1025 Carbon Steel face provides a true forged feel
  • 8620 Carbon Steel body is form forged to precise specifications and provides easy adjustability for custom loft and lies
  • Flow Weighted muscle optimizes weight distribution for each club in the set
  • Carbon Steel face is CNC milled to precise thickness
  • CNC milled scorelines
  • Tour grind leading edge, front to back sole camber and optimal sole angle for each club prevents digging through the impact zone
  • Progressive offset from the long irons (more) to the short irons (less)
  • Plasma welding of face to body eliminates excess weld material
  • Two piece construction provides more perimeter weighting in the traditional blade profile
  • .370" hosel bore
  • Available in #3 - PW, GW in RH only
  • Recommended golf ferrule 74PI
  • Product Code = MA0100

Maltby Tricept F2 Clubhead Specifications

Maltby Tricept F2 Forged Irons is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Player's Iron Built 4-PW with Rifle 6.0 shafts. If the other review claiming that these heads produce a higher ball flight is correct, then I can conclude that the Rifle shafts offsets that effect; the ball flight I get is ideal and it is not difficult to flight shots. Maybe it's obvious, but these irons assume that you will hit the ball in the center of the face every time. Don't buy them with the idea that you're going to fix your swing to fit them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Irons! Absolutely wonderful irons. I am a low single digit handicap and with my Apollo lightweight still steel shafts I get great height and can get the ball to stop quick on the small Northern Maine greens. Great feedback and very durable. Just as advertised, have the look and feel of the blade with more forgiveness added into them. They make it easy to hit anything you want from a draw, cut shot, hook, slice and so on. Great control!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mr. I built the 4-PW w/FST pro 115 stiff flex and these are a great combination. I had gone between cavity backs and blades over the previous 4-5 yrs. I decided to go back to a blade because it is largely what I have played since I was introduced to the game. I love these heads, they have a crisp, solid feel and perform great Would highly recommend to others!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from whats going on? I enjoy the look and feel of this head. My biggest disappointment was the chroming, its awful!!!!!!!!!!! I had them in the loft and lie machine one time and the chrome peeled on the hosel from a 2 degree adjustment.I thought they would have fixed that since I owned my M04 heads, they peeled too! Besides that I would recommend them to my player friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Soft Forged Feel Fantastic irons and even better at this price. I wish these were still in production. To me these have the softness of a Mizuno forging with a ton more forgiveness. Even the 3 iron gives you confidence to swing hard.

I need a lighter shafts than my old tt x flex. Best test ever was with kbs 105 tour stiff. Is it available on these or something comparable at 105 grams (110) with very stiff tip. (Noticed kbs's were stepped almost all the way to the hosel)

Asked by: Chris
If the test was good with the KBS 105 stiff, that would seem to be the one to go with. We no longer have the F2 forgings, but you could put the KBS 105's in any available model. It is available in both .355 tip and .370 tip in stiff.

Do you have the TRICEPT forged iron heads in 4-PW? If so, I would like two sets, 3-PW and 4-PW. Thank you, Clark Wideman

The MA0100 Tricept F2 Forged irons have been discontinued for several years. We only have a few GW's and #4 irons remining.

No, we no longer have any type of complete sets available in the Tricept F2 iron heads. These are discontinued item. We do have some KE4 Tour Forged iron sets remaining in stock which would play very similar only with weight adjustability.
