Maltby Tricept MG Tech Wedges

The Maltby Tricept MG Tech Wedges are modified version of our best selling Tricept wedges featuring multi-groove technology for improved spin. The groove volume is slightly reduced to allow for 5 additional grooves to be added to the club face. The concept is simple, adding more groove edges while maintaining the same amount of total groove volume will add more friction between the golf ball and club face. In addition to the added CNC milled micro-grooves, the MG Tech wedges also feature laser etched scoring lines added to the club face for additional surface texture.

The MG Tech wedges feature a rolled leading edge and a four way cambered sole to help eliminate fat golf shots. The finish is a durable semi-mirror nickel plating that reduces glare but still has the appearance of a classic mirror-polished wedge.

Apparently 56 is out of stock. When will it be back for sale, pls?

Asked by: Mauri
The Tricept MG Tech wedge is discontinued and we will not be getting any more 56 degree lofts. However, the new Maltby Design wedges (MA0265) are the same design with a different name and we have the 56 Red 0.90 sole width option in stock. Again, this is exactly the same design as the Tricept.

Do you still make the 56 loft? Also would the e.g. spinner shaft fit this 370 as the shaft is a 355?

Asked by: Kevin
This is a discontinued model and we are sold out of the 56 degree wedges. This wedge was replaced with the Maltby Design (MA0265) TP Grind. It is the same wedge as the Tricept MG Tech with different graphics. This wedge does have a .370" hosel bore so to use the Spinner you will need to shim the .355" taper tip shaft to properly fit. Our SHIMT (.355 - .370) works well for this installation. https://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-brass-adaptor-shims/p/SHIM/

I am sad to say that most of the courses I play water their bunkers as much as their greens but the bunkers never dry out. They are heavy, wet, compact in the morning when I play. What bounce should I use for a SW?

Asked by: a return customer
Generally, in wet sand you would want less bounce and not too wide a sole. 8 to 10 degrees of bounce with a medium to narrow sole design should work better in damp, tighter packed sand than most standard 12 deg. or more bounce soles. If you have a normal attack angle, a medium sole width could work well. If you have a shallow attack angle, you might want to look at a sole width on the narrower side. If you have a steep attack angle, even though the sand is damp, you may need a medium to wider sole, combined with the lesser bounce.

Want a 56 degree Maltby Tricept MG Tech Wedge. Do not see that in list.

Asked by: Jeff
The Maltby Tricept MG Tech wedges are being discontinued and we are sold out of the 56 degree. We have replaced the MG Tech with the Maltby Design TP Grind (MA0265). The heads are the same it is just a cosmetic change between the MG Tech and TP Grind. http://www.golfworks.com/maltby-design-multi-grind-wedges/p/MA0265/

The question on the KBS shaft was for the triceps wedge head. Thanks

Asked by: Jim
These wedges use a .370" tip diameter shaft so any of the KBS shafts offered in a .370" tip size will fit. FS0019, FS0045, FS0024, FS0027 and FS0038 will all fit. All of the KBS Wedges shafts are a .355" taper tip shaft and would need to be shimmed to properly fit the .370" hosel bore of these irons. That could be done using our SHIMT. http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-brass-adaptor-shims/p/SHIM/

After much use, the grooves seem to be losing their "bite". Do you make a tool that I can use to clean up the grooves and re-sharpen the groove edges. I thought I saw something like that several years ago but haven't seen it in quite some time.

Are oversize grips available for triceps mg wedge?

Asked by: neil
MA0213 is the code for just the clubhead. Yes you can order an oversize grip. You would need to order the head, shaft and grip. We do offer this wedge in a Club Pak but the Pak does not come with an oversize grip. http://www.golfworks.com/maltby-tricept-mg-tech-wedge-pak/p/PMA0213/
