RADIX is Latin for "base" or "root". The base for RADIX is The HD design, giving RADIX the most advanced internal structure in its class. Along with the internal structure, an experimental variable tip-to-butt ratio design is introduced with RADIX. The ratio specs change by flex - ball flight lowers as flex stiffens, adjusting for the progressive needs of progressively harder swingers.

AwsomeI am 73 years old I play the matrix radix s 4. 47 grams I have a slow swing speed 73 mph this shaft has help a lot, it is easy to swing and it has add the yards about 15 on average.
Match my ping G30 driver shaft. Specs on shaft are TFC 419 / regular flex / high balance point / 55 grams / 5.0 torque / 3B2S playability factor / .335 tip. I will be putting a Taylor Made tip on it for an M1 driver head. What do you recommend???

I now have a 7 wood with a matrix shaft 5.1 reg flex, I have a 5 wood with a voodoo shaft, doesn't say what flex it is. I would like to replace the voodoo shaft with the same matrix shaft I have on the 7 wood. any suggestion.

The .1 in 5.1 on the Matrix shafts tells me that this shaft was only made for a golf club manufacture and not sold aftermarket. It would still help to know which model of Matrix shaft this is as it would help in identifying the specifications and making a better replacement recommendation.

How do i know the flex rating on the shaft ? I check mine, there is no marking or flex rating written on the shaft.

On the butt end of the shaft is a stick on label that will have a number like "RS4WR". The last "R" in this sequence would indicate it is an R flex. "RS4WA" would indicate an "A" flex. Etc. Not sure why they do not put on the graphics, but that is the way they do it on the Radix S shafts.

what is the torque and launch angle of the radix s driver r shaft, 48 gram weight?
Asked by: jmarkb
The torque is 5.3 degrees. The 48 gram R flex shaft has a mid/low bend point with a medium tip stiffness. If you scroll down to the bottom of the product page you will see the complete specification box listed. Launch angle is not really a measurable attribute of a golf shaft. The bend point and tip stiffness will give a better idea of how the shaft compares to other similar shafts when trying to determine launch trajectories.

I am interested in the Matrix Radix S 6 for a Ping G30 driver. Swing speed is around 95. Handicap 10. Would you recommend Reg or Firm? How much extra to install the Ping adapter? I like 45.25, std Ping is 45.75.Does shorter affect swing wt,flex, etc? Thanks
Asked by: Bob R
A stiff flex would be better suited for a 95mph swing speed. The G30 shaft adaptor (PGC002) is $27.99. We would assemble the adaptor onto the shaft for $10 or less depending on current sales or specials. I don't know what weight shaft you are replacing. If the weight is similar to the Radix S 6 the swing weight will decrease 3 points for each 1/2" shortened.
