Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Shaft Specifications

Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Black 2nd Gen Iron Shafts is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite shaft Without the availability of the Xcaliber graphite iron shaft, I started testing other shafts of similar weight. Although the tip is firmer in the Kuro Kage, I am very happy with the performance of this shaft. They play about a half step more flexible according to my frequency measurements, but that is exactly what I want, personally. Very consistent too in terms of weight and bend profile across shafts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sand Wedge Test I bought this shaft to try in my sand wedge since I had recently been fitted for a new set of irons with the same shaft. Switching from metal to graphite has made a big difference in my game and I am quite pleased with the results. A slightly different fell from metal, but the adjustment did not take long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price I bought this shaft to replace one that broke when I hit a hidden tree root. The price was right and it shipped very quickly. Due to some medical issues, I haven't been able to play since I repaired the club, but I have no doubt it will perform as well as the OEM shaft that broke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the investment For a shaft advertised as mid flight the Ball flight is little higher than expected but all in all I like the feel and performance

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good graphite shaft Had this put in a 4 iron to see how I would like a graphite shaft has good feel and control of ball flight

I have Burner irons about 5 years old and need shafts for 3-7 iron and 9-PW.  What lengths and special adaptors are needed.  Had a Kuro Kage noir R shaft installed on my * iron but I want to install these myself.  Can you help me.

Asked by: RickO
The Kuro Kage Black 2nd Gen (MR0046) iron shafts will all come in a 42" length. You will need to follow the recommended tip trimming instructions to tip trim the shaft for each iron in your set. Once the shafts are installed you will then measure the clubs for your finished length and cut the shafts from the butt end of the shaft to these lengths. You will follow trim code IR31 on page 2 at this link from our web site. https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/shaft_trim_inst.pdf You will need ferrule and you can use the Taylor Made Universal ferrule (BB9071) https://www.golfworks.com/taylormade-universal-370-iron-ferrule/p/BB9071/ Here are some links form our web site with step by step photo instructions for club assembly. https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/2008HowToBuildClubs.pdf We do offer a shaft prep service where we cut and sand the shaft tips before we ship the shafts to you so all you have to do is install the shafts. You would check the tip and butt trimming box when you place your order or if you call Customer Service at 1-800-848-8358 they can help you with your order.

Yes the Kuro Kage Black 2nd Gen iron shaft can be used in the R15 Rescue club. I suppose it would be an upgrade if it's specifications fit the player better then the stock shaft specifications.

The Ping G irons use a .355" taper tip shaft and the Kuro Kage MR0046 iron shafts are only available in a .370" parallel tip size which is to large to fit the Ping G irons.

The trim code listed for theses shafts is ir31. The chart for trimming does not show what appear to be proper trim amounts. Would you please provide the trim code or the amounts for 6-pw Thanks!

Asked by: JBoD
IR31 is the trim code for the MR0046 iron shafts. Here are the recommended tip trimming amounts for the 6 through PW. 6 iron = 1.5" tip trimming 7 iron = 2" tip trimming 8 iron = 2.5" tip trimming 9 iron = 3" tip trimming Wedges = 3.25" tip trimming

Will these fit my 2016 jpx ez irons?

Asked by: mng87
The MR0046 Kuro Kage iron shafts are .370 tip diameter and the Mizuno JPX EZ irons from 2016 take a .355 taper tip shaft. So you will need to find a .355 taper tip option.

Hello I have the Mizumo JPX-850 Irons with Steel Shafts and don't get quite the distance I want.  My driver swing speed is 95/100.  I want to change to Graphite shafts, but not sure which ones to choose.  Should I go with the S, R, or A. I them preped.

Asked by: Phil
The Mizuno JPX-850 irons use a .355" taper tip shaft and that will limit your selections of graphite shafts some. Your driver swingspeed would put you into an S flex shaft. We also reference an 8 iron from 150 yards for an S flex, 7 iron from 150 yards for R flex and 6 iron from 150 yards for A flex. Here are the links for the graphite iron shafts we offer in a .355" taper tip. https://www.golfworks.com/aerotech-steelfiber-70-cw-graphite-iron-shafts-355/p/AT0020IE/ https://www.golfworks.com/aerotech-steelfiber-80cw-graphite-iron-shafts-355/p/AT0019IE/ https://www.golfworks.com/aerotech-steelfiber-95-iron-shafts-355/p/AT0015IE/ https://www.golfworks.com/aerotech-steelfiber-110-iron-shafts-355/p/AT0017IE/ https://www.golfworks.com/ust-mamiya-recoil-65-graphite-iron-shafts/p/US0100/ https://www.golfworks.com/ust-mamiya-recoil-95-taper-iron-shafts/p/US0085/ https://www.golfworks.com/ust-mamiya-recoil-110-taper-iron-shafts/p/US0087/ https://www.golfworks.com/ust-mamiya-recoil-125-taper-iron-shafts/p/US0088/ https://www.golfworks.com/paderson-kinetixx-imrt-kevlar-950-355-iron-shafts/p/PK0004/ https://www.golfworks.com/paderson-kinetixx-ts-i-355-graphite-iron-shafts/p/PK0105/
