Nippon N.S. Pro Modus 3 Tour 120 .355" Tip Iron Shafts

The benefits of the high quality and consistent performance of our award winning lightweight N.S. PRO 950GH series can now be found in our new series, N.S. PRO Modus³.

The N.S. PRO Modus³ series shafts are popular with touring pros because they offer optimal performance in the three key areas:
1) High tip rigidity strengthens trajectory. The high-rigidity design of the tip steadies impact to help minimize unwanted spin and realize a stronger trajectory.
2) Low mid-section rigidity controls shaft flex. Low rigidity in the mid section improves shaft control so players with any swing tempo can more easily control their shots.
3) Low butt rigidity enhances comfort. Low butt rigidity improves swing tempo and contributes to a comfortable, smoother feeling upon impact.

Features:

  • Provides Desired Trajectory as a result of the unique structure of a stiff tip section and softer mid section.
  • Provides Accurate Distances due to the unique raw steel material and accompanying heat treatment.
  • Provides Tight Dispersion coming from the exacting tolerances of the highest quality level
  • PGA Tour tested and designed to meet the demands of the stronger player.

Nippon Shaft Specifications

Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 120 .355 Tip Iron Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth, long and great trajectory! Installed in a few clubs to test... now I'm putting in all my irons. Smoother than the KBS Tour... with the trajectory of Project X. Simply the best iron shaft I've ever hit. Expensive, but well worth it.

Asked by: Longputter
In the Modus3 Tour 120 shaft the 7 iron shaft is the 38.5" raw length shaft.

I put the G30 head on the shaft and it came loose twice. Do I need a special ferrule? and If so will I now have to pay a shipping charge possibly making it a $10.00 to $12.00 ferrule?

Asked by: Ted
The ferrule would not cause the shaft to come loose. It sounds like an epoxy issue or were the shaft and hosel prepped properly. Epoxy bonds to a clean abraded surface. The epoxy manufactures recommend a shelf life of 1 year for epoxy. If you have had your epxoy longer than 1 year that could be an issue. Also was the epoxy mixed properly. These are things I would always look at when a clubhead comes loose.

Did Nippon N.S. Pro Modus Stiff 120 is the same as Nippon Pro 950GH Stiff.?

Asked by: ming
No, they are not the same. The 950GH is a 98 gram weight shaft designed to create a mid/high trajectory and the Modus Tour 120 is a 114 gram weight shaft designed to create a low/mid trajectory.

I was fit for the NS PRO 1150GH Shafts, S Flex, .355 Taper but want to invest a touch more for newer technology. Am I on the right track with this upgraded shaft? Is there a closer match? Will these fit in a 5I - PW Titleist Forged 680 Irons?

Asked by: gator
The Modus 120 S flex shaft is a little more flexible at the butt end but stiffer in the tip section then the 1150GH. The Modus is listed for a low/mid trajectory and the 1150GH for a mid trajectory. There really is not a version of the Modus shafts that has the same specifications as the 1150GH. The Modus 120 is the most similar in weight. You will need .355" taper tip shafts for the Titleist 680 forged irons.

Ok, now I am confused LOL : ) I play to a 3 HC, my carry distance with my stock 7 at +1" 2* upright is 175 with DGS300 I want the Modus3 120 stiff flex is that the correct fit?place my order on 8/7/17 I just purchased the Apex CF 16 irons

Asked by: redwards
We reference an 8 iron from 150 yards for an S flex and a 9 iron or wedge from 150 yards for an X flex. If you have been comfortable with the DGS300 shaft flex I would suggest staying with the S flex in the Modus3 120 shafts as well. If control has been a problem then the X flex can give you more control.

I am looking to buy 8 iron shafts and my specs are +1" for my PW which will need to be 36.75 do I buy a 37"?

Asked by: redwards
If these shafts are for the Apex CF16 irons you mention in your other questions then just order the stock length shafts for each iron. Keep in mind this clubhead adds approximately 1.25" to the finished length of the club. So if your PW is 36.75" then the cut shaft length is in the 35.5" range to give you this finished length. The 37" wedge shaft is plenty long enough.
