Nippon N.S. Pro Modus 3 Tour 120 .355" Tip Iron Shafts

The benefits of the high quality and consistent performance of our award winning lightweight N.S. PRO 950GH series can now be found in our new series, N.S. PRO Modus³.

The N.S. PRO Modus³ series shafts are popular with touring pros because they offer optimal performance in the three key areas:
1) High tip rigidity strengthens trajectory. The high-rigidity design of the tip steadies impact to help minimize unwanted spin and realize a stronger trajectory.
2) Low mid-section rigidity controls shaft flex. Low rigidity in the mid section improves shaft control so players with any swing tempo can more easily control their shots.
3) Low butt rigidity enhances comfort. Low butt rigidity improves swing tempo and contributes to a comfortable, smoother feeling upon impact.

Features:

  • Provides Desired Trajectory as a result of the unique structure of a stiff tip section and softer mid section.
  • Provides Accurate Distances due to the unique raw steel material and accompanying heat treatment.
  • Provides Tight Dispersion coming from the exacting tolerances of the highest quality level
  • PGA Tour tested and designed to meet the demands of the stronger player.

Nippon Shaft Specifications

Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 120 .355 Tip Iron Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth, long and great trajectory! Installed in a few clubs to test... now I'm putting in all my irons. Smoother than the KBS Tour... with the trajectory of Project X. Simply the best iron shaft I've ever hit. Expensive, but well worth it.

Would the modus3 tour stiff be equivalent to the R300

Asked by: Doug
The S flex matches pretty well to the DG R300. The Modus 120 is just a little stiffer in the middle part of the shaft.

Should you choose a length of shaft for exactly the length you need or should you account for length lost in the head or anything else?  Thanks.

Asked by: Nope
There are recommended shaft lengths for these shafts. You will install the shafts and then cut them from the butt end to your finished club length. If you use shaft lengths other then what is recommended you will change the flex of the shafts and how they are designed to play. With the Modus3 120 shafts here are the recommended raw length shafts. 41" = 2 iron 40.5" = 3 iron 40" = 4 iron 39.5" = 5 iron 39" = 6 iron 38.5" = 7 iron 38" = 8 iron 37.5" = 9 iron 37" = All Wedges

Which Nippon iron shaft would be comparable to the Rifle 5.5 ? Thanks

Asked by: Pard71
Based on the frequency at the butt end the Rifle 5.5 is stiffer then the Modus 120 X flex. The Modus 120 X flex is more flexible in the butt and middle part of the shaft but much stiffer in the tip section then the Rifle 5.5. Even the Modus 120 S flex is much stiffer in the tip section then the Rifle 5.5.

If I get modus 120 r for my mp 53s and I had s300s in them how much would the swing weight change?

Asked by: scooter
An educated guess tells me that you will lose approximately 2 swingweights with the Modus 120's compared to the DG S300's. The Modus 120's have a high balance point and the DG S3 a low balance point and this change will effect the swingweight change more then the change of shaft weight.

I would like to install the NS Pro Modus 3 -120 R-flex in Mizuno MP25 heads 4-PW in replacement of DG XP-95 R Flex. What change in swing weight can I expect and please indicate the raw lengths I would require in Modus 3 - 120 ?

Asked by: Azhark
Actually the swingweights could stay the same or very close. The Modus3 120 has a higher balance point then the XP95 shafts and so even though the Modus 120 is a little heavier the higher balance point will lighten it swingweight a little and it should be similar to the XP95. Here are the raw lengths you will need for the 4-PW set. 4 = 40" 5 = 39.5" 6 = 39" 7 = 38.5" 8 = 38" 9 = 37.5" PW = 37"

Hi there, I am looking for a Modu3 Tour120 steel s shaft for my Titleist AP2 714 5 iron, which one should I choose? Thanks

Asked by: Sammy
For the Titleist AP2 714 irons you need the NP0001 .355" taper tip version and for the 5 iron you need to order the 39.5" raw length shaft. https://www.golfworks.com/nippon-ns-pro-modus-tour-120-355-tip-iron-shafts/p/NP0001/

My build sheet that I received from a fitter has my PW at 35.50 and my 4 iron ending at 38.50. If I send in my spec sheet, would GolfWorks be able to prep and pure the shafts according to the spec sheet?

Asked by: Newbie
We can prep the shaft but we need to know the manufacture and model of irons that you will be installing these shafts into. Clubhead designs add to the finished club length and how much length they add depends on the manufacture and model. We can cut and prep the shafts as well as Pure them so that all you have to do is install them when you receive them.

Several of your Nippon Modus 120-s iron shafts are backordered.  Im preparing to place an order for a set.  When should these missing shafts be backfilled in your inventory?  Thank you

Asked by: Eric
I am told we should have those in by the end of this week, which is the week of Feb. 20th.
