If you are increasing the swingweight lead or tungsten powder down inside the shaft is one way this is often done. You would need a run a cork down inside the shaft to hold the weight in place. If it is a graphite shaft I would use the Cork for woods and you still may have to cut it down to a smaller size to get down inside the shaft. You will also need a ram rod to get the cork down inside the shaft. If you are adding weight inside the clubhead itself using lead or tungsten powder along with clubhead tac is another way this is done. I have added weight to the clubhead by using a combination of clubhead tac and tungsten powder. The Clubhead Tac adds some weight itself and holds the tungsten powder in place. The other way to increase the swingweight is to use lead tape on the clubhead.
