Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pro Lever-Action Shaft Holder - Excellent Choice I bought this holder about a month ago. I was using the standard rubber holder in a vise. The rubber holder was ok for irons, but you had to be careful with graphite shafts. I bought the holder and it was so simple to use for irons and graphite shafts. Nothing to put together. I like that it uses my existing vise. I don't have to commit an area to it. I can take it out and throw in the cabinet if necessary. What I like most about the shaft holder is the speed to secure a shaft, the guides and quick release. I would recommend this to anyone doing club repair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tool Have replaced grips in past using a rubber sleeve that slipped over shaft then squeezed in vise to hold shaft. This is cheaper.. but takes time and you have to adjust vise on EACH shaft. Is it too tight or loose? No issue with the PL-ASH. Set in vise, Place shaft to re-grip in tool, lock in place and go to work. Once set , works on all shafts. Saves time and is much safer for the shaft and you. If you replace grips on your clubs, you need this tool... make the investment !!

How wide does the vise need to open to accommodate the Shaft Holder? Will a 4 " vise work or do you need one that is larger.

Asked by: Jim
A 4" wise will work well with the PASH. The piece that clamps into the vise is 3/4" wide and approximately 3.5" long.

Whats the difference between this and the golfworks quick shaft clamp? Is one easier to clamp down than the other?

Asked by: Dan
They both perform the same function and we would say they are equally easy to use. The main difference is the Quick Shaft Clamp has a metal and rubber shaft holder and the PASH is all rubber. Both parts are replaceable when they wear out, but both should last a long time. The other differnce is that the PASH is made in USA and the Quick Shaft Clamp is imported.

Is the clamp size adjustable so I can flow the club for spineing purposes?  (i.e. place the club WITH grip in securely).

Asked by: Marcus
It will adjust wide enough to clamp the butt end of the shaft but I have found that using the rubber clamps for flowing does not always work well. They tend to dampen the vibration cycle pretty quickly.

Can this device be mounted to a bench instead of using a vise??

Asked by: Dazed and Confused
The mounting block is removable by taking out the two bolts at the bottom of the unit. Once the block is removed you will be able to mount direct to a bench.

Is it adjustable to hold the smaller part of a shaft near the tip end as opposed to the butt end of the club? If so how?

Asked by: dehoffe76
The PASH shaft clamp will not properly hold the tip end of a golf shaft. We do sell inexpensive rubber shaft clamps that (RSC) that can be used in a vise to safely clamp a golf shaft tip.
