i have a set of royal precision frequency matched 6.5 shafts. what would the same flex be in the project x rifle, would it still be a 6.5, albeit my royal precision shafts are at least 20yrs old.

Asked by: antvega71
With the Project X Rifle shafts you would want to drop to a 6.0 flex to match the 6.5 flex of your older set of shafts.

I have project X 6.0 shafts in my irons now and I've been wanting to make my 3-6 irons all the same length. My question is, can I just cut the butt of the clubs down to match my 6 iron?

Asked by: Jonesy
Single length irons use the same shaft for each iron in the set. Generally the manufacture uses the 6 or 7 iron shafts for each club depending on if the clubs are being made to a 6 or 7 iron length. If you cut the existing shafts down to 6 iron lengths the shafts will have to be built up to create standard grip sizes to match the grip sizes on your 7 iron through wedges. Keep in mind iron heads that are used for single length irons all weight the same and have the same lie angles. You are going to have different swingweights because of different clubhead weights and different lie angles with your 3 through 6 irons.

Hi, would these fit the "maltby-te-forged-irons/p/MA0099/"? I am playing this club with TT-SCORE-LT (bought a MALTBY-PAK) shaft, think these are 0.370, and want to test another shaft. How to downsize shaftdiameter ?

Asked by: Hjalmar
The Maltby TE Forged irons have a Universal Hosel design and you can use either .370" parallel tip or .355" taper tip shafts like the Project X Rifle shafts. If you would like you can use the SHIMT (.355" - .370") shims to center the tip of the .355" taper tip shafts into the TE Forged irons.

Asked by: Ed M
Royal Precision referenced an iron swingspeed between 70 and 80 mph would use a 5.0 flex.

Hello, I have just ordered this set of shafts and I want to clarify how to install these iron shafts. I am having difficulty figuring out the trimming document. Do I cut anything off of the tip on these shafts, or do I only butt trim these shafts?

Asked by: ajgolf
The Project X shafts are a .355" taper tip shaft and you do not tip trim a .355" taper tip shaft. You will install these shafts and cut to length from the grip end to your finished length.
