Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brass Shim For Orlimar 420 I used the brass shim to replace the shaft on an Orlimar Hip Ti 420. I had to use two shims as the hosel was .370. It worked great. the driver feels solid when hit.

Reshaping 1998 TM Bubble driver, which shim to use .335? Do I need to use a .350 wood shaft?

The Ti Bubble II driver used a .405" tip diameter shaft and for this driver you would need the SADW adaptor to size the .405" hosel bore down to a .335" size so you could use any .335" tip size shaft. https://www.golfworks.com/bushing-ferrule-adaptors/p/SADW/ In 1998 I also show the Burner Bubble woods and they also had the .405" hosel bore and would need the SADW.

I have a Taylormade Firesole 5 wood that I was going to experiment with putting a NV hybrid shaft into. Can this be done as it would mean going .370 into .405 I believe?

You can use a SADW .335" Bushing Ferrule to install a standard wood shaft into into your Firesole club head. I wouldn't recommend using a hybrid shaft for a #5 wood but if you wish to do so the SADI .370" should work. I am replacing the shaft on a Ping G15 with a .335 shaft. Do I need to use both a shim and an adaptor BB9048 .335 to make it work? Thanks.

You could use either the SHIM15 and a standard ferrule like the 60PW or you could use the BB9048 the one listed for .335" but you do not need to use both.

Re-shafting my Cobra Big Trusty 55*. Your data says .355 shaft. Both the new shaft and factory shaft are a very loose fit. Noticed a collar on factory ferrule that seems to center it. Which shim do I need so I can use a custom ferrule?

If you are using a .355" taper tip then the SHIMT (.355" - .370") should work the best.

Am I able to remove a head with a shim in it?  If so, is it any different than a normal removal?

Removing a shaft that has been installed with a Shim is the same as a normal shaft removal.

Would you be kind enough to go through the sequencing using epoxy and shims? i.e. .355 to a .370 hosel. Thx, Joe

The way I always do this assembly is to get everything ready and organized. I would install the ferrule on the shaft and set it almost to it's proper depth. Then put epoxy into the clubhead and just insert or start the the shim into the top of the hosel. I do not want to close up the finger of the shim as this will make it more difficult to start the shaft into the shim. I then roll the tip of the shaft in epoxy and insert it into the shim and push the shaft and shim all the way into the hosel. I then hold the clubhead in one hand and the shaft in the other and tap the butt end of the shaft against the floor to make sure that the shaft and shim are installed all the way to the bottom of the bore. Next I clean up the excess epoxy and set the club to dry.

Will this work for .335 to .355

We do not have a shim that will allow you to shim a .335" shaft into a .355" hosel bore. Keep in mind a .355" taper hosel bore is only .355" at the very bottom and it tapers out to approximately .370" where the shaft exits the top of the hosel. So at the top of the hosel you need to shim .035" and at the bottom of the hosel you need to shim .020". You would have to create a shim to make this work and I would always remind you of the liability that goes along with doing this.

Instead of a shim to epoxy a .335 shaft in to a .350 bore can I simply use extra GOLFWORKS shaft centering granuals?

No you need tou use a SHIM. The Quik Center (QCSB) will not fill enough space to keep the shaft properly centered in the hosel bore.
