The GolfWorks Industry Standard Grip Tape

The industry standard tape for installing slip-on or leather grips. Sticky on both sides and activated with solvent. Also keeps grip collars in place. Choose from 18mm wide for spiral winding or 48mm wide for faster length-wise application (preferred by most clubmakers). Also available in a shorter 18yd roll and 10" pre-cut strips.
The GolfWorks Industry Standard Grip Tape is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wide grip tape does what it is supposed to do As a 30+ year customer with Golfworks, I can attest 99% of the products are top quality and do what they are supposed to do. The staff and shipping are accomplished and fast. When I do get a product that is less than satisfactory, then Golfworks works to make it correct. I like this wide grip tape because I build up the underlistings of many grips, and a wider, thicker piece of tape is faster than wrapping the less wide tapes. Golfworks tape is a true masking tape variety, and I like it better than some of the other companies' thinner thickness tapes. They are little more than sticky films; this is a real tape. I feel like that I will continue to order this tape for a decade to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved since my last purchase This purchase was a reorder and it seems like the tape has actually, improved since last time. It is still sticky on both sides. However, it seems like the paper backing that helps when applying the tape to the shaft comes off quicker. I used to have to wait about 30 seconds for the paper backing to start releasing. Now, it starts releasing almost as soon as the tape gets applied. This is a very nice improvement (assuming it was an intentional design and not just a different level of sticking the tape to the grip). I'm going to assume the best and give it 5 stars. If,it turns out to be either accidentally better or worse, inconsistent, I write another review later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I just re-gripped my friends clubs using this grip tape and the rest of what I bought at GolfWorks. Everything was great and so easy to use. I highly recommend these items. They make re-gripping a snap. (Items were: grip tape, grip solvent, and the GolfWorks quick grip device).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tape I have used this tape for years and it always works great, even when it sits in my garage for months at a time it still holds up well and retains its stickiness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still the best grip tape available!!! Over the years I have used every tape available this is consitantly the best

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Actually a little disappointing! This tape was a disappointing in that the adhesive was not consistent. This was only noted to be true on the "sticky" side, not the top side that is activated with solvent. It remains to be seen if this results in any problems.

What solvent can I use? I'm overseas so I can't import your solvent. Will methylated spirits, turpentine or even petrol work? Thanks.

Asked by: jono
The first grip solvent I was ever taught to use was Gasoline and it does work. You could use lighter fluid, naptha is what the golf industry used for years and mineral spirits is also a very good grip solvent.

is this tape used to wrap the shaft ,wet , prior to sliding on new handle

Asked by: jdub
No the double sided grip tape is not wet but you have to make it wet with grip solvent so that you can install the grips over the tape. Our VB1017 or VB1018 grip solvent will work depending on how much solvent you need based on how many grips you will be installing. http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-fp-142-grip-solvent/p/VB1017/
